Update & Happy New Year
I have not been the best about posting on the board over the past several months still manage to get on when I can and try to comment on the various posts and lend encouragement and support where I can. With the New Year right around corner I thought this the perfect time to reflect on the old
and look forward to the new.
Like many of you 2008 brought about many changes for me
, the main one being the decision to have RNY in May. Since surgery I have lost a total of 104 pounds
I am pleased about this in so many ways however, I also have some of the struggles as many others .As far as clothes shopping, I went into Catherine's to buy something a few weeks ago and instead of having a wow moment, I left a little disappointed because all the nice stuff I saw was too big!!! Imagine that!! I am currently into a size 14 pants and top from a 30-32 so that is a big change for me. My most recent issues are more mental related
for which I am in the process of seeking counseling before they get the best of me. One thing I have noticed and many others told me about is that when you reach the 100 pound mark you start to see
things more clearly and this is true. I think the seeing things in my personal life more clearly is resulting from the fact that I am no longer stuffing my feelings down and denying them with "mounds of food" and I don't have the "stuffing device" to swallow the feelings.
So I am in the process of just dealing with them however, hard they are. In moving forward in 2009 I look forward to becoming more involved with all my OH friends,
attend support groups on a regular basis, get a hobby, excercise more
and deal with my personal issues and don't sweep them under the rug for starters. For all of you I wish you a Happy New Year and may all your hopes and dreams come true in 2009!!!
Hugs to you all,
Terri :-)
I'm glad to see you posting now! And it's good that you're taking the steps necessary to get yourself straightened out...I think often times too many people just keep sweeping everything under the rug. At least you are able to recognize and do something!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! I hope 2009 will be a better year for you......look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks...don't forget to come with your dancin shoes on!!!
Take Care!
Marnie
