UPDATE ON MY ER VISIT

First let me say thanks to everyone for your support; I was touched by the posts,
texts, phone calls and even a visit from Ellen.

Basically I know its not My liver, kidney, appendix and gallbladder.
The Er doc ordered a catscan and can not see any abnormalities-
She said it could be viral infection or possibly scar tissue - and to follow
up with my PCP:  she sent me home with a pain medication.

So I don't know what the problem is but I am staying on top of this -
I don't want to have all of you tracking me down.

I'm home now and it a little pain but I'm hoping the meds will help.
My plan is too call my PCP and Dr Mo in the morning.

Again thank you all so much for your caring words of support.

I am glad you are on top of this and have had a number of things ruled out. I hope the pain meds help until you can get to the bottom of this.

Hugs and Best Wishes!

Darla,

I am glad that you went to get checked out. Please let us know how it goes tomorrow.
I hope the pain meds are working and the dr's figure out soon what is going on with you.
Big hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Im sorry you are still in pain but I am glad they ruled out a bunch of things. That has to make you feel a bit better. Did they say stomach ulcer or hernia? A friend of mine got a free tummy tuck after hernia repair. Insurance covers it if you have hernia surgery. The thought of having a hernia makes me cringe. So I hope for your sake its not that either.
Try and get some rest. Are you off work today? No super parties tonight......GET SOME REST! LOL

Darla,

Glad you went to the er and got checked out but please stay on top of this.

Several years ago on a Friday I was having pain in my abdomen and took myself to St Joe's er. They gave me pain medicine and said they saw nothing wrong with me. By Sunday afternoon I was back in the hospital having   emergency appendectomy. They were about to burst and I had to be cut for the surgery because it had gone on too long. So, please be careful. IMO some things get overlooked in the er.

Take care and have a Happy New Year!

Well Since I went to St Joes I will definatly go back if the pain does not go away -
I went because I am concerned that it was my appendix .  I know they were
really busy yesterday and I imagine it is possible something was missed;
I have faxed the copies of bloodwork and catscan results to my PCP and asked
her where I can go from here to find out what the problem is.

Darla,

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well, and I'm glad that you took everyones advice and went to the ER.  Def stay on top of this, and remember you know your body better then the docs.  If you think something isn't right, then push them to find out what is wrong.

I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,
Becki

Darla,

I'm sorry to hear about your pain.  I hope they find out what it is soon.  One thing, I had to have an endoscopy in October for some upper right quadrant pain.  The doctor found a stitch that was hanging from my RNY and he clipped it.  He said that sometimes hanging stitches will cause pain (this was before I had two other tests that confirmed I need to have my gall bladder removed).  I just thought I'd mention the stitch/pain since he mentioned it to me.

Keep on top of this!  I'll be praying for you :-)

Take Care,
Terry
