Good Morning Maryland;

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Years!
Please my friends stay safe -  and if you are drinking tonight Baltimore
is offering free taxi rides home -  they won't take you too another bar but
they will take you home :  I'm sure they will have posters up at the bars -
PLEASE USE IT IF YOU NEED IT!!!!!!!!

1.  That the pain is gone with the help of the pain meds!!!!!!!  I still don't know
the cause but at least I can deal with work  painfree.

2.  For my wonderful OH friends who showed me yet again yesterday how
lucky I am to have found them.

3.  That  even though I have had some issues these last couple months
I am so much more healthy then I was 18 months ago.  Yesterday would
have been 10X worse 125 lbs. heavier.

So again my friends BE CAREFUL OUT THERE-  and may we all have a Happy and Healthy
2009

GO RAVENS

Good morning ((( Darla )))

I am glad you are functioning pain-free this morning, though pain meds are not the best way to do that!  LOL .. they need to find out what IT is.   I know from personal experience that kidney stones tend to plague us WLS-ers, so keep those fluids going and drink LEMON juice !!  (put lemon in your water!)

I tend to have the same three things all the time ...  but I am constantly grateful to be alive and be able to live my life and enjoy it post WLS.   I was really becoming withdrawn (can you imagine ME withdrawn ????) because of the weight.   Every day to me now is an adventure.  I have always had professional self confidence, but now I am even more so.

On a funny note .. as of today/tomorrow I have 3 years 1 month to my projected/planned retirement date!   BUT .. who's counting?????   Pre-WLS I am not sure I would have lived to be 62 much less be looking forward to retirement and being able to travel and explore new opportunities.

And finally, that at almost 5 years post op I am still hanging in there.   I never reached my 'goal' of a size 8 and actually have gained some weight back, but I am still about 100 pounds less than my all time high weight and I know my tool still works, I just have to work with it and get back on the wagon.

Have a wonderful and happy new year!

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Good morning Darla,
I am so glad to read that you are feeling better today. I hope and pray that Dr. Mo figures out what is going on with you. Make sure to make that call!!! ok????

Today I am grateful for:

1. My circle of friends.. I am so blessed!

2. That 2009 is going to be a better year!

3. My RNY. It was the best decision that I have ever made in my life (well other than having my children)

Have a great day!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Good morning everyone!!  Sorry I haven't been on much lately.  It has been pretty crazy with the holidays and work.  I can hopefully stay on a little longer today, and be able to catch up.

Today, I am grateful:

1.  That my boss took off today, and that I am the only one in the office today!  It makes for a very peaceful and relaxed day.

2.  I know I say this a lot, but I really am so thankful for the day I came across OH and the Maryland board.  For the first time, in a very long time, I have friends who can understand and relate to what I am going through with my obesity, and all of you are truely wonderful.  Thank you!

3.  That I will probably be able to leave work an hour or two early today!  If so, I am going to spend my Kohl's gift card!  My sons father and Rigel had Hunter give me the gift card Christmas.  It was so nice of them to do that for me.  I never spend money on myself.  It either goes to bills or to whatever Hunter needs.  I will probably end up buying something for him with it too lol!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!
Hugs,

Good Morning Everyone and Happy New Years Eve!

My three things today to cover the year of 2008:

1.  The circle of friends and abundant support from the OH friends and acquaintances.
2.  That my husband and I still have our jobs.
3.  That we are saying goodbye to 2008 and looking forward to 2009!

For the New Year of 2009 including that extra second!
1.  Continue to be on OH whether as a friend, spectator, chatter or advisor
2.  Keep my work desk cleaner - now that I will have energy to do that
3.  Wishing the best for each and everyone, including our new Presidential administration, economy, and for those less fortunate than us.

GOOOOOOO RAVENS!!!!!  Let's "can" those Dolphins so we can "untighten" the Titans!!!!!

Happy New Year!!

Well, although I'm really sorry they didn't figure out the problem, I'm glad you went and I'm glad you got some pain meds!!  Stay on top of that!!  You DID fax the info to Dr. Mo, too, right????  Please don't make me keep asking these questions!!!!!

I've been up since early and Dad and I already picked up our NYE food from Attman's Deli on Lombard Street.  So we'll all be getting together tonight and some of our neighbors are probably stopping by, but it'll be low-key, which is fine with me.  Tomorrow, we're going to my Aunt Sue's house for a family open house and we have KB on Friday - I think we're going to a train garden and may hit the mall - depends how K's doing.

Today I'm grateful for:

1.  A new year, a new start - 2008 won't go down as my fave year due to family health issues, man issues, work issues, etc., but it could've been much worse and I thank God it wasn't!!  I'm excited about the new year - new teeth - lol!!, maybe a new man?, just a chance to hit life's undo button a little and fix some things.

2.  My OH friends - On this and other boards.  Your support has been phenomenal - don't know what I would've done without it!!!

3.  That I don't go back to wor****il Monday!!!  WOO-HOO!!  I have a little work that needs to be done from home, but working from home is usually better than working from the office!!

Again, I hope that the coming year is full of good physical and mental health and continued weight loss for everyone.  To all you awaiting surgery approval and dates - it WILL happen, and you'll be amazed at the gift you've given yourself.  For all you new post-ops - MAXIMIZE this time!!  For RNY patients especially, once your wl window closes, you can continue to lose weight, but NOTHING compares to the first 9-12 months!!  Take my experienced word on this!!!

Have a great, safe night and a Happy New Year!!
