Oh aaron what a nice Christmas. Glad I wasn't there I would have flooded the place. I cry over everything. My kids make fun of me. I'm glad you got to spend that special time with your grandpa. Thanks for sharing.

Aaron, thanks for sharing about your grandfather.  I'm glad you got the chance to show him how much healthier you've become, as well as wow everyone else in your family.  I can't belive you kept them in the dark all year long!  That must have been overwhelming when they saw you.   I'm glad you had such a nice Christmas.  Happy new year to you.

LOL yeah since I don't have a lot of money, in addition to baking all my christmas presents this year for everyone i thought having them see me at this stage would be another good christmas present I could give them :)  I hope you have a wonderful new year.  2009 is looking promising I think :)

((( Aaron )))

Welcome home!   I'm happy that you had a wonderful Christmas visit, though sad about your grandfather.   I understand completely about the elderly parents ... my parents are in CT (about a 5 hr drive) and I don't see them nearly often enough.   I've had two good visits in the last two months which have given me positive memories.   I don't worry so much about each visit being the 'last' time I see my mother but more the last time she may remember who I am.

Hugs & smoochies,
Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

(((((((Mo))))))))

I totally understand.  with my grandfather's last stroke, he's almost blind.  I have to get right up in his face for him to see me.  well he chews tobacco and boy does taht stink LOL  I think my grandmother's going to be around for a long time.  she's 81 and still dances around and stuff LOL  i think she secretly can't wait for grandpa to kick off because she's tired of taking care of him.  Luckily my Uncle and aunt live next door to them so they have help.

you know my grandfather and I never got along too well until the later years.  these current memories of him totally overshadow the bad times and to tell you the truth I can't even remember the bad times anymore which is great!  I will definitely miss him when he's gone.  these are the last set of grandparents I have left and they are the closest to me.
