hey everyone!  i got back from west virginia last night and thought I would post my christmas story for you all :)  please, if you have grandparents or elderly parents.......please love them as much as you can.  they won't be around forever!

Well I went home for christmas not knowing what to expect. I almost had an anxiety attack on the way home LOL Well i got mom and dad's on Wednesday and my cousin and her husband was there. they were driving up from tennessee and I walked into the back door and came around the corner. i saw them and they saw me. there was silence LOL

Then all of a sudden my cousin screamed and ran over to me and gave me a hug LOL Then mom was still speechless and she came over and gave me a hug and started to cry in my arms. i said "am I that scary looking to make you cry?" LOL She laughed and said that I looked wonderful. Dad gave me a huge hug with a big grin on his face then followed by my cousin's husband.

None of my family had seen me or pictures of me since last december. Mom and Dad only saw one picture of me since the surgery and that was a month after surgery. so pretty much I had only been feeding them how much i weighed and that was it.

My cousin and her husband took off to my grandmother's house while mom and dad and I sat and drank coffee and talked a bit then we took off for grandma's. We pulled up in grandma's driveway and I hesitated to get out of the car because again....that anxiety thing was happening. Well i got out and helped dad in with the presents and I again was met with silence. At first i don't think they knew who I was and then my aunt (my cousin's mother) screamed followed by my other aunt and then my grandmother. I got hugs from everyone and they were all happy to see much less of me LOL

I'm not going to tell you about the presents I got except for two that I will cherish for the rest of my life. My grandpa isn't doing too well. he's had several strokes and constantly gets pneumonia. I figure this is his last christmas. he and my aunt compiled a little book of memoirs told by him and transcribed by her. these were all stories of different periods in his life. Immediately, all the grandkids including myself started bawling as well as our parents LOL I will find me a glass case to put it in because i don't ever want anything to happen to it. before we got the book, we got a portrait done of my grandparents. i almost started bawling. that will be the last picture of them together and they made it where I can hang it on my fridge. they really know how to reach in and yank your heart out eh? LOL

anyway I spent the next 4 days with mom and dad and got home sunday evening. I hope your christmas was as blessed as mine. it will be one to remember for a long long time.

OMG!!!    That's one of the most heartwarming stories I've ever read!!!  I can't even begin to imagine your anxiety at seeing everyone for the first time in so long - but they were all probably just as anxious!!!

The gifts were awesome!!!  Get to Michael's or A.C. Moore - they had some beautiful wooden encased glass boxes that would be perfect for your book.

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that all was a success!!!  You've worked so hard to turn your life around and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you!!!

Much love,

Blondie

COOL!  i'll have to check out AC Moore......when i get paid again LOL  i got about $300 for christmas because i told them that i just wanted money for christmas so i can buy new clothes.  i ended up getting 3 pairs of dress slacks, a pair of sweats, 12 pairs of underwear and about 32 pairs of socks at wal mart for less than half the money LOL  I LOVE SHOPPING FOR CHEAP CLOTHES!  LOL  and then dad gave me a ton of shirts and a couple pairs of jeans that he can't wear anymore.  I'm worried about him though.  he's going through all the things at 270 pounds that i went through at 500.  he knows what I have gone through now.

First off glad to see you back little brother. I am also glad of the time you spent with your mom, dad and grandparents. This is the time of year i miss my parents the worse. I loved them dearly and miss them. My solace is that I visit their grave on christmas eve and place a tree on it for them because it was their most favorite time of the year. So on that note enjoy all of your elders while they are with us.

thank you dusty!  it's good to see you too!  no truer words have ever been spoken by you.  Now and always is the time to respect, cherish and love the elder people in your family because their time is short.

Aaron:
Sounds like a movie on Lifetime.  (LOL).  I am so happy for you, it sounds wonderful.  I don't think I told you about the first time I saw my Aunt since surgery.  It was around Thanksgiving and I was out with the grandchildren at the Amish Market.  I had gone to the bathroom and they were eating.  When I got back to the table they told me that Aunt Becky was there.  I was excited, but scared to see her, since I had told her that I had gall bladder surgery in May.  I knew she would never approve.  So I walk over to the table where she and my Uncle were eating and said hello and she said hi, you look terrible, are you okay!!  I said yes and thanks!  That was my warm-hearted story after loosing 100 lbs.  LOL.
