Wear very loose fitting clothing around the stomach.  I had to go buy some sweats that had a band versus an elastic waist band.  Don't have anything pressing in on your stomach, especially up around the belly button or where your incisions will be (all above the belly button).

Be sure to get some water to sip on for the ride home, and don't hesitate to take a nap.

Good luck and best wishes on your upcoming surgery!!

Get a cough pillow and make sure you have your chapstick.

I would suggest getting your pain med prescription filled and available before the ride home (assuming someone else is driving).  With all the bumps in an average road- it could be a bit uncomfortable and the meds might lessen the discomfort for a 3 hour drive. If they give you some meds just before you leave though - you may not need the rx right away.

I am a big fan of hot or warm tea-- my sensitive tummy cannot always handle cold water.

I also agree with the above comments. A pillow for your tummy. Loose fitting/comfy clothes and most def try and get your pain prescription filled.

First off CONGRADS TO YOU!!!!! YOU WILL BE A LOSER in less then 24 hours!!!!!!!! That is a wonderful gift your giving yourself.
If your having RNY you should be sent home on Tuesday honey not Christmas. Most people only stay in the hospital one day.
Comfy clothes, water, a nice pillow, chapstick, and a small pill crusher in the event you need to take pain meds. You cant swallow pills whole. That is a long ride so put a pillow between you and your seatbelt and take a nap. GOOD LUCK!!!!!! ;o)
