My company has done alcohol ONCE in the 10 years I've worked here and that was a major shockage, for someone's retirement or something.

That said, I am celebrating the holidays 2x with my office - once tomorrow with the whole friggin unit.  The company will provide turkeys and the different teams will provide the sides. My team has veggies so I'll bring in a green bean casserole.  We'll do this in our local cafeteria and do bingo and who knows what else goofy games for prizes that will show up on our paychecks for tax purposes... lol.

Then, on the 23rd my team will do it's own lunch - we've decided to each contribute towards having it catered by Ruby Tuesday's. We'll do our Yankee swap then.  I'm looking forward to that one...

This year we are having a company party (Friday evening) at the home of one of the partners. On Monday we will have an office pot luck (food, humerous gift exchange, and elf bowling). Some of the kids may show up for the lunch in the office. Both are fun in different ways. We are still small enough to do things this way. I think the bigger the company gets, the harder it is.

In my case, Deb, when you work with a lot of men, they don't want to bother.  Which is fine with me.  I'm done with being the office social director!!!

Elf bowling?  I think I've heard of this before.....but do tell!!!

I am the coordinator in my office too (See why I am stressed! - I do it to myself!)

Elf bowling is where we take the empty large pretzel barrels and we tape a picture of an elf on the front of each one. The first year we did this, we had enough kids here to color the elves pics first. Then we set them up and bowl!

The gift exchange has to be an item that costs $10 or less or is something you have at home that you want to regift. Then we draw names. The person who has number one, picks first and opens it. The person who has #2 can either take what the first person opened or draw from the wrapped pile. This goes on and on until everyone has a gift. There are always some coveted gifts that go back and forth as well as some very funny ones!

Hey Ang!!

When we do off-site retirement parties, obviously, there can be alcohol, but since cops are notoriously cheap and don't want to drive their personal vehicles, they're not gonna be drinking anyway.

Oooohhhh, green bean casserole!!  YUM!!!

So what time is Kohl's closing on Christmas Eve?  I assume if it's 6 like most stores, you won't have to work?  I hope not, for your sake!!  What about the day after Christmas?

And more importantly, have you dressed your dogs in Christmas gear yet???  LOL!!!

We're having an in-house luncheon catered by Squires tomorrow....yum!  We're having salad, bread, lasagna, roast beef and gravy and some kind of chicken dish.  For sides they're doing mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.......with a sheet cake for dessert.  I work in a nursing home so its hard to do something that everyone from the different shifts can enjoy.....it usually works out nicely....the food is out from 11:30-3:30 so we can just stop down and get food and then get back to work as needed.

No, my pooches have lucked out of Christmas gear so far... believe it or not, it's hard to find things for their size.

I do not work Kohl's Christmas Eve. Can I hear a WOOT WOOT!!!  That's when we start celebrating Christmas so I am OFF!  However, I do work the day after - at both places, but then I'm off again Saturday as my sister from NC will be in town for a quick visit.

I miss the Christmas parties we had at the insurance agency in So. California... they rented a BUS to transport us, there was a LOT of booze, and often strippers.  WHOOO HOO!!! LOL
