Office have a Christmas party? On site? Off site? Alcohol? Spouses?
Our "building" Christmas party is on Friday at a Chinese restaurant. NO, not the Chop Suey Palace!!!! LOL!!!!! Unfortunately, I'll miss it as I have a dental appointment. They're also doing a Yankee Gift Swap, which sounds like fun. Personally, I prefer a lunch time party - there's too much for me to do in the evenings otherwise!!
Most of the time, when it's been up to me to organize the parties, I try to give everyone enough notice and let them vote on the when, where, etc. Given the nature of our work, they never involve alcohol. In my opinion, that's a good thing. I have a hard and fast rule that I NEVER mix co-workers with alcohol - there's too much potential for ugliness, and you have to see those people the next morning!!
So, how does your office celebrate the holidays?
