The first day home will be the HARDEST and then with everyone on here pushing your spirits right back up you will be FINE!!! PROMISE! If you need ANYTHING snail mail me on AOL [email protected]. GOOD LUCK!!!! ;o)
hey Jilly! Glad I can be here for you! Just remember to always listen to your pouch and remember that it's totally ok if you don't finish everything on your plate. When you feel tight in your pouch, stop....don't force it. Also this is the beginning of a trial and error period for you. Not only has your tastes changed but also what your new stomach and body can tolerate has changed. These two weeks of full liquids will fly by and you will be so happy when you move onto the stage of soft foods. It'll be like eating for the first time in your life and everything will taste wonderful. Just be mindful of the printed diet information that Mary Beth gave you and you'll be just fine. I followed that diet (or the food list) to the letter and it was great! It's funny how you don't feel hungry in your stomach isn't it? Keep yourself occupied so you don't fall into head hunger (eating because you're bored) and remember, NO SNACKING (although I don't think you could if you wanted to at this stage LOL). When in doubt, call Dr. K's office! I know they are extremely busy (he usually has every one of his patient rooms filled all day)....if worse comes to worse, demand to talk with Nadja......you know she has a clear path to Dr. K and can interrupt him whenever.
I'm here for ya hon!
EDIT: also, if you're not already on them, I totally recommend getting on some sort of anti-depressant because your emotions are getting ready for one heck of a roller coaster ride!

Jill! Glad to see you are getting better and better every day! Anxiety is a complete BEYOTCH! Remember to breathe and think about happy things. Even try going for a walk to work it out. Mine got so bad several years ago that I had to take small doses of Valium for a few months. It was all stress related when we moved back to Maryland (selling a house in VA beach, we became civilians again, job changes, moving in with my parents for 9 months, dealing with infertility treatments, etc). My body just couldn't handle it all. Stess is not my friend. Hang in there.
