Need HELP please finding surgeon in the area!
I used Dr. Schweitzer and he was wonderful, very skilled at all the WLS types. Before i went to his program I was seeing Drs Von reuden and Moenolmolki at GBMC. When Dr. VonReuden went to St. Agnes my surgery date was postponed during the transition. i was miffed. I later chose DS instead of RNY and that's when I switched to Dr. Schweitzer.
There is a surgeon at Holy Cross who is good from what I hear, but I cannot recall his name. i think it may be Dr. Greene. Remember though, it doesn't matter which hospital it is....the skill of the surgeon is most important in making sure you have a safe operation and recovery.
As far as loose skin...I personally would risk it, as I am doing, since I had to drop the weight to be able to even walk around at all at the point I had surgery. Just getting off 70 lbs at this point has improved my quality of life in a major way. If my skin ends up sagging, I will deal with it and wear a body briefer garment.
