Is there................?
A creche under your Christmas tree? Or does it have another spot of honor in your home?
Is Baby Jesus put in there from the beginning or does he not appear until Christmas Eve?
Our creche, with the exception of last year, has ALWAYS been under our tree. I LOVE it, it's 42 years old and I expect that one day, my brother and I will be fighting over who gets to have it. The only reason it didn't go under the tree last year was because Happy was still so new to everything - we didn't want to end up with 2.5 Wise Men!!! LOL!!! Not sure they'll fare any better this year, but we're going to try!!! Stay tuned for updates!! LOL!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS,
Tia

I used to place my thimble navity set under my little tree, but now that is in a display case. A few years ago, I started collecting one of the Lenox sets and have received a number of pieces as gifts. Because if its size, it will not fit under the tree. I have an old antique buffet and I set it up with a place of honor there. While I like the idea of nto putting the Baby Jesus out until alter, I admit that I do it when I set it up. I am always so afraid I will forget as I am rushing around as the big day gets closer.
But of course: It would not be a Christmas tree without one.
Ours is a set Mom painted while in her ceramic hobby stage of life.
The baby is put out when everything else is.
I am so grateful that Mom is feeling up to decorating the house this year: the last year or so she didn't want to put out all her ceramics and it was hard to get her to do it.
I go home everyday now to notice something else has been brought in from the garage
closet.

I usually put mine on a table somewhere near the tree. I always put baby Jesus out with the set when I place it out. The one I have now, is just one I purchased from Walmart about 10 years ago. But..........
We have a very old one that has been with my family for a while, my Grandmother has it and I LOVE it!! She said I can have it when she passes. So eventually one day (HOPEFULLY NOT ANYTIME SOON!!) I will get that one.

Cool, I just learned a new word.....(sound of a brain cell expanding to make room)
I never knew about the word Creche. We always called it a manger scene or a nativity scene. We would start out with the wise men behind the manger, and move them slowly along until 9 days after Christmas, when they finally arrived at the front of the manger bearing gifts. WE had the straw in a separate container, and whenever we did something unselfish or kind for another person, we could add a piece of straw to the manger. We always had Jesus there the entire time. I do the same now with mine. I've had it both ways...sometimes beneath the tree, other times on a side table on display.
