Stomach.abdominal pain?
About 3 days ago I noticed that I was having some pain at the top of my incision from when I had my perforation surgery. My scar starts about 2" under my breasts and goes down to about 2" above my bellybutton. It hurts near the top.
At first it was only hurting when I was rolling over in bed. I figured it must be something weird from the healing. I had the surgery July 11, but I have heard it can take 6 months to a year to be fully "back to normal" after open abdominal surgery.
But it is getting a little more painful and now starting to hurt whenever I use my stomach muscles at all or twist, walk up the steps, etc. It was hurting me a lot last night in bed (that is when it hurts the most).
It does not feel like it is internal, as in my actual stomach. But it also doesn't feel like a skin issue. More like an issue somewhere in between the skin and the organs.
I did call my surgeon's office yesterday and they said that they don't know what it could be but it probably nothing, maybe a pulled muscle. They said if I was still in pain by Friday to call back and they'd decide on what they wanted to do.
It isn't super painful or anything, but it is there. I am just super paranoid ever since my perforation.
Any ideas on what it could be?

While I don't have any idea what it could be, please stay on top of this. It is soooo much better to be safe than sorry. I have seen people on this board put things off, only to discover that they truly had a problem that needed treatment. Please take care of you!!!!
Wishing you all the best!

Thanks Debbie. I'll definitely keep on top of it. Trust me, even calling the doctor was a huge step for me. In the past, I'd wait until I was practically dying before I'd call. But every since the perforation (which I did not wait on since I thought I was havinga heart attack) I have been very nervous about everything.
Hey Leigh!!!
Sorry you're going through all of this, but like Deb said, PLEASE stay on top of this!!
I had open gallbladder surgery in 1990 and for several months afterward, would have pains like what you described. The doctor finally attributed it to scar tissue/adhesions. It finally did stop after a while, but when I had wls, DVR had a tough time doing my surgery lap because of the scar tissue.
Keep us posted!!!

Thanks, Tia. I am hoping that it is something like what you are describing.
I know that I have heard that it can take awhile for the nerves to regenerate, so I am hoping that maybe they are and the "pain" has been there all along, but my nerves just weren't feeling it or something.
I guess I just got scared because I haven't had pain for all of these months (well, after the initial severe pain went away) and now to suddenly get it scares me.
