SUNDAY'S BRUNCH

I recently received some emails and pm's that indicate that people are not happy with the restaurant chosen for the brunch on Sunday.  I THOUGHT I gave the board a choice early enough so that there wouldn't be a problem and so that people would be aware in ample time of the location, pricing, etc.  I'm REALLY sorry that the Severn Inn won't cut us a break - believe me, I tried. 

Putting together these events are a labor of love me for - trust me, I'm not getting anything from them other than the enjoyment of being with my friends.  But it's not easy - particularly when we're so spread out around the State.  It's also hard because it seems like I'm the only one willing to take on these get-togethers.

So.........I talked to my Dad's friend, Greg, who owns the Essex Diner - yes, it's located in Essex, in Eastern Baltimore County on Eastern Avenue, not far off the Beltway.  Greg has a great little restaurant, with a menu that includes just about everything you can think of.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner items, daily specials, etc. 

He's agreed to let us use his back room, which has tables, and to give us separate checks.  The only thing is - the back room can only hold 18 comfortably, although there are some booths close enough so that no one would be excluded.

On Sunday, there's an antique car show/toy and canned food drive at the restaurant, and Santa MAY be there, so it still fits in with our plans of donating canned food items.

I NEED TO KNOW TODAY WHAT YOU FOLKS WOULD LIKE TO DO!!  ESSEX DINER OR SEVERN INN.  YOU DECIDE BY 4 P.M. TODAY SO I CAN LET GREG KNOW.

I will go along with the consensus. I have to admit I like the less expensive option. At the same time, I was willing to go to the Annap. area for our Eastern Shore friends since they sop often come up this way.

Bottom line, whatever the majority says is fine with me. I have reserved this time on my calendar and plan to attend regardless.

Thanks, Deb!!!  Of course the idea of a cheaper option is good for all, but like you said, I really liked the idea of Annapolis because of the Shore girls, who ALWAYS come to us.

I'm feeling a tad frustrated and disgusted right now!!!

First and foremost, I do appreciate the time that you take on this board to keep it lively.  I know that it takes time to plan events and that not all the time people are going to be able to come or be happy with a decision, but I, again, appreciate your efforts.  Yes, the cost of the Severn Inn is a bit expensive, but thankfully I have the funds and am willing to pay for the time of my friends.  However, I do understand that some people don't have the funds available!!!!  While I won't be able to come to the Essex breakfast, it is okay with me that you make the change to accomodate more people!!!!  I love my on-line OH friends and there will be more get-togethers that I will be able to attend.

And yes, we WILL get together - in fact, I'm alread thinking ahead to my week at the beach in July - we'll definitely get together there.  In fact, I think I need to kidnap you for part of that week and you can stay with us!!!!

I'm up for the breakfast on Sunday and meeting everyone (that will be in attendence). Which place? I don't care either way... I'm just happy to finally have the opportunity to meet!

As far as a cruise.. I'm up for that  in Jan/Feb 2010 too!
