Endocrinologist Recommendations?
I see Dr. Richard DeSantis in Bel Air. I don't know how far that is for you, but he's great. My H, mom and MIL all see him now, too. He diagnosed some issues that I had been suffering with for over 10 years that had stumped dozens of doctors. I see him for thyroid issues and PCOS. Then right before surgery I was diagnosed with diabetes and my surgery got cancelled (my sugars were too high). He knew how important the surgery was and how badly I needed it and he treated the diabetes super aggressively (giving me lots of insulin and skipping trying out oral meds, etc.) and I was able to have the surgery in 3 months (he cleared me after a month and a half, but I had to wait to get back on the schedule). I no longer am diabetic at all. My sugars and A1C are perfect!
His personality can be a bit gruff to me, but he's nice, truly cares and knows exactly what is going on in the world of endocrinology (plus other stuff...the issue he diagnosed for me is not related to endocrinology). He also gives lots of free samples before prescribing stuff to make sure that you can tolerate the med and that it is working. Which I appreciate a lot!
His office staff is great and he does blood work in his office. They are ALWAYS on time. I wish he could be my PCP.
