Okay, I was pulling my camisole down a little while ago and apparently I grabbed 2 of my steri-strips and pulled them off.  I wouldn't be worried if it were from any of my other "entry points", but this is one from where my drain was, so it's only been on for like 3 days.  Should I send the hubby out to buy some and put two back on it??

Hi Marnie :o) My surgeons head nurse told us all that when we get home we can shower as normal and if and when they come off it will be fine. She did say however that if it made us feel more comfortable to have something on there that is fine but the best thing is to let them come off on their own. Hope that helps. Does it hurt or are you just worried about getting it infected?
((((Hugs)))))) I would call your Doc tomorrow either way honey. Im sure it is fine!!! Get some rest. :o) ~Jilly~

Yea, mine said the same thing...they said they usually only hang around for 5 - 10 days and then come off themselves...but I wasn't really sure since technically I pulled these off.  There were 4 total on this incision, and two on one end came off...think I'll just put a bandaid on it and call in the morning...

Thanks Jilly!!!

Your welcome. Let me know if you need any antibiotic ointment, gauze or special bandaids etc. LOL I have a ton of that in my daycare first aid kit here and you live so close so just holla!

Marnie,

If the wound is still open, I'd call your surgeon to see if they want you to come in and get more steri-strips.  Otherwise, you'll probably be okay with bandaids and antibiotic ointment.

Thanks!  Well, I can still see the incision mark...but it looks like it's healing well.  Guess I'll just put a bandaid on it for tonight and call the doctor tomorrow...I have to call for my follow up appointment anyhow.  Thanks!!
