Pain Question

Hello Everyone,

I think I read a post a while ago about a pain "on the skin".  That's how I will describe it.  I am just over two months out, joined the gym and started working out.  Pretty sure that everyone has, at one time, been awakened in the middle of the night by the pain of  a leg or toe cramp.  Well, the other night I was awakened by a pain in my hip area but it was more like a burning of the skin on top my hip.  Also, its like I can't really feel my skin  when I touch it in my hip area ( like it has no feeling - numb).  Wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and if so, what did you do, how long will it last.  Please help.

Thanks

Hi Colleen,
I have never heard of that honey. I will ask some of my friends who are post op but I myself have never heard of that. Did you ask your surgeon? I hope its something normal. I will get back to ya if I hear anything. ((((Hugs))))) ~Jilly~

Hey Colleen -

Sounds like a pinched nerve to me!!  I had a pinched nerve in my back which made my thigh tingle and burn, yet be numb at the same time!!!  Weird and severely annoying!!!  Of course, before I was pre-op, the doctors blamed EVERYTHING on the excess weight and said that losing even 10-15 pounds would help.  Well......I lost 55 and still had the problem.  It wasn't until I lost a substantial amount that I realized I didn't have the problem anymore.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!!!  Hope it gets resolved soon!

I have had very similiar symptoms once in a while.  I have no idea what it is ---other than I figured it was a pressure point pain...as I was laying on that side/hip.  I just reposition myself and it goes away.

Hey Colleen!

Yeah it sounds like a pinched nerve.  Unfortunately you can't do much for it.  I get them all the time now that my body is constantly changing and repositioning itself after having almost 200 pounds gone from it.  I expect that I'll have a lot more nerve issues down the road as I continue to work on this last 100 pounds.  Eventually it will go away as you continue to lose weight but in the meantime, keep working through it.

Thanks everyone for your responses.  I think I can agree with the pinched nerve thing.  I am going to wait a bit and see if anything changes. Then, I guess I will go see the doctor about it if there is no change.  Hope that it gets better.  Thanks again

Colleen
