Hello everyone!!

I am not new to this site, but I don't post often. I am getting closer to surgery and would like to introduce myself and meet some people in MD who have had WLS or are hoping to get WLS. I am hoping to have surgery by the end of the year.

Welcome to the Maryland Boards!!  I am also seeking weight loss surgery.  Right now I have 3 months left of my doctor supervised diet and psych eval, and then I can finally submit for insurance approval.  I wanted to have mine by the end of this year, but due to the 6 month doctor supervised diet it won't be until hopefully no later then february!  Good luck and best wishes.  Keep us updated on your progress.  This is an awesome board with a lot of incredible people who support you the whole way.

Take Care,
Becki

I am doing fine, I am down 20 lbs already. The only problem I am having right now is getting in all of my fluids, I'm find it very difficult.

20 pounds is AWESOME!!!  I know, the first 6 weeks are the worst, but it WILL get easier.  I found it easier to just pretty much carry a bottle of water with me ALL THE TIME.  I kept one by my bedside, too, and if I woke up during the night, I sipped.  Trust me, the sips DO add up.  If you're not tracking what you're eating/drinking, you might want to start, it will give you a clearer picture of your progress.  S/f popsicles will help you get fluids in, too.

And remember, your body is still swollen, healing and in some cases, rebelling, asking, "What the HECK did you DO to me???"

Hang in there!!

Hugs,

Tia
