3 THINGS FOR WEDNESDAY
1. I'm so grateful that I'm actually not hitting the snooze button anymore when my alarm goes off and I'm actually getting up! I was having a problem with depression and general tiredness for the past few months so this is a good sign for me!
2. my morning coffee! I never have coffee at home during the week. i usually wait until i get to work to have it but man it's so good to have time in the mornings to drink a cup!
3. My family here. I love you all!
Sorry to hear about your Dad still smoking. My parents smoked for years and years. My Dad quit cold turkey about 20 years ago. My mom finally quit this year. Now if I could only get Mike to quit too, it would be GREAT!!! He's not allowed to smoke in the house or in my car but even the smell of it makes me gag...especially since my surgery!
Today I'm thankful for...
1. Had my two week post-op appointment yesterday. 18.5 lbs down since surgery and 21.5 from my highest known weight. WOOHOO.
2. My return to work form is signed but it has a return to work date of December 02, 2008!!!! Double WOOHOO!!
3. My family, including my furbabies, for getting me through the day sometimes.
Hey Heather!
ICK!! Does Mike know that kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray???? LOL!!
21.5 pounds - WOO-HOO is right!!!!
I'm thinking you need to take a western road trip over the bridge so we can have lunch before you head back to work!!!
I know you're missing Colby, but how about the others - I'm sure they miss her, too!! :(
Hugs,
Tia
That sounds great...probably in a few weeks when I'm out of the pureed stage!!
Of the dogs, I think Rio misses her the most. He's been more clingy than usual. He grew up with her and the others are all rescues and did not. Brie and Bruce are a little more clingy, it's as if the longer she's gone the more they realize she's not coming back! Jake is like "whatever", but he's a puppy and has only been here for a few months. I think the one that misses her most, besides me (and Mike) is my male cat Mischa. She taught him how to be a dog. LOL! He was just 4 or 5 weeks old when I rescued him from my sister's back yard. He used to eat out of her bowl, drink with her out of the bucket, and cuddle up to sleep with her. We all miss her!! She "comes home" on Monday!
Heather
Heather -
I had my first meal "out" when I was still doing pureed - shrimp bisque. I was able to eat about 1/4 of a cup, which completely overwhelmed me!!! In fact, I remember the waitress not charging me for it after I told her why I couldn't eat anymore!! LOL!!!!
Okay....you have a dog named Brie, too??? LOL!!!! Where are Cheddar and Mozz??? Sorry!! LOL!!! Just trying to add some levity to your grief!!! :(
Be forwarned, "Coming home" day is horrible. It's like ripping the just-starting-to-heal scab off. Just go with it and be extra kind to yourself that day. Hugs to you and all of your menagerie!!!
