blood in pp
yeeks and all that horrifiying shoot , i woke up yesterday with blood in urine, i have doc apt on monday with endrocronologist lol i think its spelled that way so im waiting to see him about it any clues girls and guys what the hell is going on i am diabetic urine is getting stronger, sugar count not bad though i just want to give up but this surgery is keeping me going knowing it may help my diabeties go away just wish i didnt have so much problems
I am a diabetic as well but never had this problem.
I say I am a diabetic because my PCP stressed to me last night that
"ONCE A DIABETIC ALWAYS A DIABETIC."
I am 15 months post op and my last bloodwork had a A1C of 6.0
Only 1 decimal away from " normal adult"
So Thats with no Meds since day of surgury- I was on 3 different ones PreOp - I feel pretty Damn Good about that.
I just wanted to mention this to give you hope that it will go away - but like I said
Dr's all say you will always be diabetic.

That's strange. My endo told me on Thursday "You are no longer diabetic."
By the time I left the hospital after surgery, I was off of my 4x a day insulin. 3 months after surgery my A1C was 5.4 I think. The endo said it was perfect. On Thursday my A1C was 4.1. He said I am definitely not diabetic anymore and am actually getting close to being a little too low. I'll take it!
(However, I was only diagnosed with diabetes in Jan and had surgery in Apr. In Jan my A1C was 9.7!)

i was also diabetic pre-surgery. however, the only two times i've ever had blood in my urine was due to a urinary tract infection and a kidney stone.

i perfectly understand the center for disease control not wanting to say that bypass surgery may "cure" your diabetes because when the window of opportunity elapses, everyone has the potential to fall off the proverbial wagon and return to their many of their former bad habits and risk having their blood sugar go nuts again. however, as long as my blood sugar is below 100 daily and i'm not medicating myself, then i will be of the opinion that i am cured. i view it more like cancer... it's there... it's in remission... but i may relapse.
