Hi ya'll,

I am glad to say that it's been eight months for me. I've learned alot about myself during this time. I've had a very large learning curve and I'm still learning but I'm feeling like everything is going in the right direction. I wish I could be happier but I am having a bout of anxiety the last two weeks. it's not very bad but it negatively colors my days now. I'm not sure exactly what I am going to do other than go back on my medication but I had really hoped to stop taking it. I'm trying my best to stay positive and to keep pushing on. It's hard because my brain won't let me feel ok.

I finally lost some weight for the first time in three weeks probably. I am officially less than 255, which was my weight when I went to college. I remember back then feeling so disgusting and ugly and now I am so grateful that I am here again. I've lost 87 lbs so far. That is a little over 10 pounds a month. It's not the drastic weight loss that many experience but I have struggled from the beginning with compliance with the program. i would have never gotten here without the surgery, which I am so grateful for. I am looking to the future and hoping to fit into smaller and smaller sizes. I would love to be a size 10 or 12. That would look good on me I think.

Right now my focus is on solving my anxiety issues and continueing to make good choices with food and exercise. Another focus of mine is my home. Since I've been depressed most of the my life, there is lots I have to do to make my home the home that I can be proud of. I'm hoping to keep working toward being better at keeping it clean and updating it so it looks good.

So this is my 8 month suriversary. I am really happy to be here to say that. I hope that I will have many happy surgiversaries to come.

Many of you have contributed to my success and I can not thank you enough for that. You are all wonderful people.

Love Nicole

I'm so proud of you, my friend! You've done great. You've struggled, but recognized what is going on and you've worked hard to get back on track. They didn't operate on your head, that's for sure. I wish they would have on mine, that's for sure too.

I need to go back on my meds too, and I can relate to wishing I could control my life without them. But, we can't help the way we are wired, and the chemical balance/in-balance in our brains. I'm going to call the doc tomorrow. Hopefully you'll get to do the same sometime soon.

In the meantime... CELEBRATE a great accomplishment, you deserve it!
Hugs!

Hey Nic!  You are doing GREAT!!!  87 pounds is NOTHING to sneeze at regardless of how fast or slow it has been lost (FOREVER!!!)  Do you know what is the BEST part?  You know exactly what you have had issues with and you keep coming back here for support to help with them.  That in itself is HUGE!  Congrats on your 8 months!  Keep on girlie!!!

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

Wow!!!  You have achieved so much.  Your kind words and daily posts regarding exercising have been just what I needed.  Loosing 10 pounds a month is awsome.  I'm so proud of  you and hope we get the chance to meet in the future.

Nicole,
As I said the other day, you are one of the people I greatly admire on OH, because even when it is not "politically correct" you are HONEST. And I adore that about you. Longterm success requires that we are honest with ourself. You have done a TERRIFIC job. You have taken the time to work on not just the "fat" but your thoughts too. That takes so much courage, something I have yet to do. Keep on keeping on girl. You are a great person and you deserve this.
