3 THINGS FOR MONDAY!

Happy Monday All,

1 - Taking Another Leap - I know I have mentioned a couple of times how unhappy and embarrassed I have been with my hair. It has been quite thin for decades and with the surgery it has gotten much worse. I needed to do something to make me feel the rest of the way better about myself. I bought a wig. My regular hairdresser helped me. She volunteered her services and free time when she did not have to. Today, I finally got the nerve to wear it to work. I was so afraid of the response I would get. But my fears are unrealized. I am getting wonderful feedback and compliments. I could almost cry.  It will still take me some time to get used to the even "newer" me.  I am still doing some things to help my real hair improve. But that all takes time. Maybe down the road, I will even pursue a hair transplant. But for now, I am so thankful for all of the support I continue to receive on my road to improvement.

2 - For a great day at Sugarloaf - I really enjoyed the company at Sugarloaf yesterday. I have always loved this crafts festival, but usually attended, when I could, by myself because I was not sure how long I could handle the walking. Yesterday, as Darla mentioned we walked for a very long time and I did not even feel a little warm until the end of the day. And I think that was mostly because the temperature went up. Besides just being fun, it was so nice to share this day with such special people. We all truly understood what all the little ah-hahs really meant to each of us. We had a wonderful day! Thank you and congratulations to you all!

3 - My long awaited adventure vacation is now almost here! I leave on Sunday. I am so excited. I am also so thankful for the opprtunity this new life is giving me to be able to do such things again. Thank you, God!

have a great day!

Deb -

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you!!!  I can't wait to see the new do!!! Sounds like your hairdresser deserves a special gift.  How nice of her to do that for you!!  I hope this makes you feel better!!  Those of us who know you, though, realize that your beauty comes from within - and makes you glow!!!

Hugs,

Thanks Tia,

I actually did give her something as a token of appreciation. But it in no way could truly compensate for what her help meant to me.

I will have to get someone to take a pic of the new me so I can post it.  Of course, I don't have my camera with me today.

Deb-  I'll stop at home and get my camera before the gym tonight is you will have it on there:
As Tia says Outside appearence does not matter;  Its the inside that does- and I for one know
what a truly beautiful person that makes you

Deb -

I forgot to ask if you're driving or flying?  I assume you're flying to............where?  And then driving? Did you say you've never been to Key West?  Look out!!  They have BEAUTIFUL jewelry stores - some BEAUTIFUL prices, too.

There's also a Del Sol shop - Darla and Kathy are familiar with it - they sell t-shirts, hats, bags, etc., that all change colors beautifully when exposed to the sun.  Nail polish, too!!!

You MUST go to Sloppy Joe's for a 'rita.  Okay, well, then go for the conch fritters and the Key Lime pie.  Yeah, just have a bite for me, pretty please???!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Key West.  If you were a drinkin' woman, I'd tell you to do the Duval Crawl!!!  Duval Street is the "Main Street" of Key West.  Lots to see, lots to do.  We were there in October 2003, and it was hotter than the gates of Hades, so keep yourself hydrated!!  And take pics so I can live vicariously!!!

Hugs,

Tia

good morning Tia and everyone!  I don't post often, but not because I'm ungrateful, mostly because I don't get to the board every day. But, woohoo, I'm off till Wednesday! There is a tradeoff for that, in that I work all weekend (with a few hours off for Webers Farm).'

Today I am grateful for:

1. That I spent my 10 month surgiversary (I completely forgot the date until this AM) with great friends, laughing and enjoying the time, while as everyone said exercising without getting the least bit tired.

2. For my friends on and off the board, who support me and encourage me and make me see my self worth. I have a family too, but unfortunately aren't that close to most of them. My friends are my family too.

3. For the YUMMY sugar free, no sugar alcohol hot cocoa and cappachino mixes I found at Sugarloaf yesterday. I even ordered more off of the website when I got home. Tia, they had this to-die-for pumpkin spice, which I ordered off of the website. Hopefully will be here before the weekend so I can bring it to Webers for you to try. They had it mixed with water, and it was already rich and creamy. With a mix of milk and water I can't even imagine how rich it is going to be. Only sweetened with Splenda, nothing icky! YEAH!!

4. Like I said above, for 3 days off in a row. I feel like I might be getting a cold, so I can use the time for rest and hopefully avoid a bad cold.

Have a GREAT monday my friends!!
Hugs!

Hi Kath!

Wow!! 10 months already!!  Time flies, huh???

Sadly, I WON'T be at Weber's, but I MIGHT be able to go to lunch afterward.  KB have bday parties hours apart in two different areas.  I'll work on it!!

Feel free to bring some of the pumpkin mix to bingo, though!!  And I put a packet of the s/f hot cider on the side for you and have some flavored teas I'll be bringing.  Not sure if you're a hot tea lover, but the Vanilla Chai is great to use with vanilla protein.

For the cold - Mucinex if you're congested, Delsym if you're coughing.  Both a little $$, but very much worth it.  Drink lots of fluids, too!!

Hugs,

Tia

Kathy :
I didn't think of it till this morning but yesterday was my 15 month surgiversary.
So happy anniversary my friend:  Go**** seems like we have know eachother forever but it really
is around a year I think :  Time flies when you are around new friends I guess.
Glad you have a couple days off to recoup but sad you cann't come out and play on Friday
night :  but there is always next Friday - which reminds me I need to put up a post about bingo

So get some rest and take care :  If you were feeling OK I would suggest coming to the
gym tomorrow night and joining Debbie and I in the water classes - if you feel better tomorrow
