I'm home from the hospital
Jennifer,
Welcome Home! Take it easy. Don't expect too much from yourself in the beginning. You'll be feeling great in no time and loving and playing with your new niece.
Everyone saved your seat on the Losers Bench!
Welcome to the new you.

Welcome home Jennifer glad to hear all went well. I can suffer along here with you on a few issues. I'll be a week out tomorrow and I'm having awful pain on my left side and my pain meds don't seem to be helping at all. To the point I just sent my doctor a message to see if this was normal and he would change my pain meds. I expected to be off meds by now, but NOT!
Anyway glad you are getting so much help it is truely a blessing and makes this go more smoothly for us.
One question for you how the heck are you sleeping in your bed already? Without significant pain there is no way I could lay down flat and get myself in and out of the laying position. I'm still sleeping in a recliner.
PM me if you want to compare status of pain or progress since our surgerys are so close together.

Christy, I had to sleep in the recliner at the hospital, and at home I'm not sleeping in a flat position in my bed. I have a bajillion pillows in my bed to keep me propped up and unable to roll sideways. My pain is much less now that I have been home a day. I got the dose increased the day I was discharged to double what I was given before. I was in so much pain I was whimpering and moaning whenever I breathed, coughed, laughed, strained to get up out of a chair, etc. I hope you get your doctor to take a look at you soon and see if there's a cause for this pain you're still having or if you need an increase in the pain meds. Good luck!
