RNY question

Lately I'm noticing I can not eat very much and it doesn't seem to matter what it is, I feel like throwing up for about three minutes. It passes and I'm able to continue eating. I've always been able to eat almost anything and a larger quantity than most but now I am finding that I can't get all the food in. It's like my body finally decided to act like it had RNY and has become sensitive. Just wondering if anyone else had this issue. I am not bothered by the fact I eat less but the fact that I feel so uncomfortable every time I eat. That really sucks.

Whens your next check up with the Dr?

i was there not that long ago, maybe two months ago so not soon. and they won't let me see my surgeon but the nurse practitioner who is retarded. plus my insurance won't cover weight loss related visits. i had to pay out of pocket for that visit. new insurance since the surgery. i can go to my general practitioner but not too happy with her. need to find another one.

I would definatly call the surgeons office if it doesn't get any better: and the GP might help as well -  I know what you mean about frustrating Dr's believe me :  Still waiting on the Lab to
call about  my biopsy-  I want to get an appointment but everytime I call I get voice mail

I can't give you any advice... I'm sorry! I just wanted to give you an FYI that Dr. Steele has hired a new nurse practictioner who works solely with her patients! She won't be up and running for a few weeks due to orientation. It was good news to me, I tell you!

yeah i really didn't like pat, i think her name was. but my other issue is that my insurance doesn't cover it anyway. i can't afford to do that. not sure what to do.

You can call the surgeon to let him know about your symptoms. You might be developing an ulcer.  I had an issue for a while that it was hurting when ate and I got nauseous too.  I wouldn't throw up but it was horrible. The doctor gave me carafate for 2 weeks and it worked like a charm. 

I would call your surgeon after hours have her paged and when she calls back tell her how you feel and she can tell you more or less what it may be. Of course you need to get checked out but if she calls your pcp she can tell him or her what needs to get done. Just a thought.

i'm going to try that. i'm looking into finding another primary care cuz i don't like mine and there is one local from johns hopkins so i might do that since they are affiliated w/ my surgery location. i will make an appt to see if i am having that issue. thanks!

Please get checked out before it gets worse.   Keep me posted ok.

Hopefully it's nothing serious but you should definitly have it checked out.

Until then - make sure you go back to the basics-  eat slowly and Chew, Chew, Chew.
