2008 Cruise to Lose Pics!

Hi Everyone! 

I have some friends who hang out a lot here on the Maryland board (Darla and Kathy are you there?!) and I thought I'd share some of my Cruise to Lose pics with you all!  I know you had a get together last week, and I wish I could have joined in the fun!  Kathy and Darla are the BEST and I was so glad to get to meet them and can't WAIT to see them again next November 1st (2009) when we go again!  You should see Kathy line dance!!  Girlfriend has some MOVES!!!!

All I can say is WOW!!!!  We had an absolute BLAST on our 2008 Cruise to Lose!  The weather was GREAT, ports were SO much fun, I did the Dragon's Breath Zip Line (WOOOO HOOOOO!!!! - OMG I am ready to do it again!!!  It was AWESOME!!), and best of all, got to meet and mingle with 60 or so of the BEST fellow cruisers anyone could ask for!  I have been busy (and hospitalized!!) since our return, so I am just now catching up!  BTW the hospitalization was not related to WLS or the cruise (LOL)...I had a DVT caused by using birth control pills for WAY too long and it was caught early on thank goodness, and I am home and on my way to "better" now.  Anyway, here's a link to my MySpace where I have a gallery of 2008 Cruise to Lose pics posted.  Check it out!

Glad you liked the pics - just a few of them but I wish I'd taken more "people" pics...something to keep in mind for next year!  I look forward to receiving your pics too - Greg is going to compile a gallery and we'll include them as well (if it's okay!). 

Yes, Kathy IS one lucky lady!!  WOW!  I am definitely going to hang out with her in the casino in November!!  I literally broke even.  Haven't won in Vegas or on a cruise in about three years so I am DUE!!

Can't WAIT to see you both again and so glad we all got to meet!!!

 

Hi Terri, and everyone. I'm here. Just got home, very wet, from a long day at work. What a nasty weather day!  Terri, the pictures look great. I'll have to email you the ones I have with people in them. I too didn't take many people pics. I did realize after looking through mine again that I caught a few of our fellow "losers" in one of my candids at the Labadee entrance.  Yes, I seem to be hitting a streak of luck in my gambling endeavors. Wish I could be so lucky with my job hunting endeavors!!

Terri, so sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. But, very relieved to hear that you are on the mend. You'll have to be 110% by November '09 so we can party, and dance our way around Liberty. We're vigorously recruiting fellow Marylanders, and other friends for the cruise. We had such a blast, and know it will be tough to do, but we can top it next year.

It's nice to think about vacation, and remember the good times after a long week at work, and in horrible weather.

Hey Kathy!!  You know it's funny, and I'd said the same thing to Greg....it seemed like wherever we were, be it on the ship or in port, we ALWAYS ran into someone from the group!  That's cool that you managed to capture a candid with fellow Cruisers to Lose....THAT is what this is all about...not only realizing and recognizing our new selves, but connecting with others who share something very personal, unique and SOOOO important to us.  It's a group of "YES, we DO get it" sisters and brothers!  This is exactly what I set out to accomplish when "Cruise to Lose" was born.  I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to actually hear and see that it's come to fruition.  I guess it's a "safe" place for those of us who have had or who seek WLS...it's so much easier to reach out without feeling self conscious because we have all in one way or another been down that path, so we share common ground, and accept one another.  Anyway, as I said to Darla, I am SO glad you gals joined in and hung out with us!! 

I hope that many more Marylander's join us in November!!  EVERYONE is welcome and we sure know how to have a BLAST!!  We LOVE to welcome new family into our fold!!

Can't wait to check out "The Catacombs" (Liberty's version of Dragon's Lair!!) LOL.  Also, a friend of mine will HOPEFULLY still be hooked up with Liberty and will be the pub entertainer in Hoof & Claw (Liberty's version of Wig & Gavel)...THIS guy, Mark B., is absolutely INCREDIBLE - if you look at my MySpace page, I have a YouTube clip of him...OMG he is awesome...NOTHING like the lame karaoke version of the "Willie Nelson wanna be" who was onboard this time LOL!!  If Mark is still on Liberty, that will be my main hang out, trust me! LOL  And also as I'd mentioned to Darla, I MUST do casino with you - perhaps your good luck will rub off on me!!  Roulette table, here I come!!  Black and Even, baby!!

Thanks for the "well wishes"... I feel okay - a little tired from the meds but my chief "complaint" which was pain in my upper calf, knee and lower thigh (where the blood clot is) seems to be diminishing every day - of course the liquid Lortab helps THAT!!  No more BC pills for me!!  EVER!!  My doc feels that this is the culprit and cause of the DVT - 25 years on the pill is NOT a good thing, and I definitely SHOULD have known better.  No one to blame but me.  That also means no HRT when menopause sets in (which will be soon!) but that's fine with me. I'd mentioned also on MySpace that two surgeons I know - one from last year's Cruise to Lose, Dr. Ted Small, and my own bariatric surgeon, Dr. Richard Gordon were sweet enough to stop in to check on me while I was in the hospital.  Neither of them had to do it, and I wasn't even Dr. Small's patient, so their efforts really touched me.  THEY are definitely in it for the right reasons!  LOL I almost felt like a celebrity in the hospital - docs coming in left and right - my niece (who is also my God-daughter) is an ER nurse there too, so she checked in with me several times each day as well, so you KNOW I got the best care! LOL

So...sorry the weather is nasty there - when it gets like that just think ahead to next November!!  Let's plan an excursion together!!  Maybe parasailing or zipline, huh??!!!!

Oh!  BTW, I just got a CD yesterday in the mail from Byrne with her Cruise to Lose pics!  There are a couple of GREAT pics of both of you, and us together!  I'm compiling the gallery now for Greg and I can't wait til they're up!

I sure will, Darla!  I have to tell you - right now, even as I type this reply, I am editing and captioning all of the pics (several HUNDRED of them!!!) for the photo gallery, and I am reliving the cruise and absolutely LMAO!!  Wow did we have a FANTASTIC time or what?!  Is it November 1, 2009 yet?!?! LOL
