Maryland Lapbanders :)

hi, everyone.

i'm a lapbander from kensington, maryland (silver spring/dc area) and i usually hang out on the main lapband group, but i'm looking for local banders who might know of a support group for lapbanders.

my surgeon's office has a monthly support group, but when i go, i'm the only lapband patient and i'm looking for a support group that consists of more than just one lapbander.  (me).  lol.

if you know of any lapband friendly support groups, could you please pass along the information?  i'm not afraid to travel ... i'll drive within an hour or so of the northern side of the DC beltway.

Hi Linda!  My doc is at Johns Hopkins Bayview and I know they have a support group, but I believe that there are probably some down at St. Agness which is closer for you.  And then there are some of us here who are banded like me (I think I'm the farthest out who is in the Maryland forum) that you can network with.  I'm in Rosedale.  Feel free to PM me!!! 

Hi Linda - I am no where near the DC area and will be of no help to you finding a support group but I have been banded for almost 2 1/2 years now.  I read often and post/respond hardly ever.  I hang out on the lapband grad board and the PA board because I had my surgery in PA but live in MD.  I am a PM away if you need me.  Welcome to the MD board.

The lapband support group meets in the auditorium at St Agnes the 3rd Wednesday of every month.  I think anyone can attend although you'll see most are pts. of Auerbach and Singh.
