I'm Back

Hi Everyone,

First, I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers during my recent surgery.  My OH family makes me smile.

 

This is my first time online since the surgery on 9/15.  Although the surgery took 5 ½ hours, it actually went smoother than either of the doctors expected.  Once again, the bulk of the time was spent in cleaning up adhesions, old mesh, etc. from my intestines and general abdominal area.

 

I haven’t even seen my incision yet.  I’m still bandaged, with the drains in; and, was told to leave the bandage alone unless it had drainage or was looking dirty.  So far, so good.  I go to the plastic surgeon tomorrow for my first follow-up.  I’m not sure what he will be doing.  I’m still getting a lot of fluid out via the drains; so, I doubt if he’ll take them out.  Maybe he’ll take the staples out.

 

My husband took some ‘before’ pictures the night before surgery and I will post them with some ‘after’ pictures soon.

 

I can’t wait to go shopping!  MY HUGE STOMACH IS GONE.  My underwear is falling off!  My husband says I look like a bag lady and is complaining about me being skinny.  I love it!  
                                          

 

I am really excited.  Even with the drains sticking out, I can’t help but look in the mirror every time I walk in the bedroom.  I am just amazed at my transformation.

I am so happy to see you post an update.  I am so sorry I dropped the ball I had been so busy for the past few days. I had been thinking all day about you and I am glad I got to talk with you this evening.  
You sound wonderful, in great spirit and that makes me happy for you.   
I am so proud of you April you have done an amazing job with your weight loss and I thrilled that you got this part of your journey done. You deserve it!

Please post an update to let us know how your follow up went.  I can call you and post for you if you are not up to it.

I am so glad we had a chance to really talk last night.  It was wonderful.

I will post an update on today's doctor visit.  Nothing earth shattering.

I am so happy you are doing well. I can't wait to see your pictures!!   It will all be worth it.  Hope all continues to go well for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you for  speedy recovery.
