3 THINGS FOR MONDAY!!!

Hey everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend!!  The weather was gorgeous!!

Today, I'm thankful for:

1.  That my 4 days (OMG! was it ONLY 4 days???) of jury duty is OVER.  Last week, I sat jury duty for a gang related murder trial.  It was, by turns, horrific, interesting, graphic and boring (the technical part).  The jury returned a guilty verdict for two counts of first degree murder - it's daunting to realize that someone's life lies in your hands.  Not only their lives, though, their families, the victims' families, etc.  This particular trial involved the MS-13 gang (you can Google this and find out more than you EVER wanted to know).  It is SCARY stuff to know that this exists in our society.  All of the jurors got along well, the verdict was returned after only two hours and I walked away with some phone numbers of some new friends.  All in all, I'm glad I was able to observe this, but I'm MORE glad that we have a system of justice in our country.  Had we lived in another country, we could have been observing a hanging.  I'm completely mentally wiped out though, and SO needed that Long Island Iced Tea on Friday!!!

2.  For good, TRUE friends.  You don't know who they are until the chips are down.  We had a great time on Friday looking at the Cruise to Lose pics from Darla and Kathy (thank you both SOOOO much for my souvenirs!! ).  That night was JUST what I needed after last week.  I WILL be on a cruise with you guys in the future, I promise!)  Thanks to Antoinette for keeping a running grocery list of what we all want in a man!!!  LOL!!

3.  That my Dad got a GREAT report from the kidney doctor on Friday.  His kidney function has improved from 18% to 40% - a GREAT number!!  There was no mention of dialysis, and he doesn't have to go bac****il February.  THANK YOU, GOD!!!

4.  For my 2nd date in a row on Saturday night (WITH THE SAME GUY!).  Again, this can't possibly go anywhere except two people having fun, because he works so much, but it was nice hanging out.  Of course, part of the reason, in addition to his work schedule, is because if we go out on a Friday or a Saturday, we have to meet when he gets off of work at 11 p.m.!!!!  Too late for THIS Princess!!!  But it's nice to know that he wants to see me again!!!  He's got the potential to be a great friend!!

Okay, so I cheated and have 4!!!  LOL!!!  Have a great day everyone!!

Hugs,

Tia

hey tia it was great to hang out with you guys. I always enjoy our outings together.

1. the weekend is over. It was tiring and the routine of the weekday helps me stay on track with exercise and food.

2. i finally put my scale on craigslist. i keep getting on the scale and not losing weight. it's very depressing and needs to end. i will only get weighed at a doctors office. i will probably have withdrawal symptoms for awhile but hopefully you guys will help me through it.

3. my job. even though it's been a bit stressful recently, i really think i found a place to settle into for a couple years. it makes me feel less stressed about my future.

It's always wonderful to see you, Nic!!  And to see you looking so well was a bonus!!!

I'm right there with you on needing a routine - after 3 years, I STILL need one to keep me on the straight and narrow!!!

I'm glad you're doing what you need to by getting rid of the scale.  It can be our best friend and our worst enemy.  The day will come when it won't matter what the number says, you'll judge how you're doing by how you feel - I promise!!

Hugs,

Tia

I agree, the service was DEFINITELY lacking, but my fish tacos were AWESOME!!!  And the Long Island Iced Tea was even awesomer!!!  Did I miss something on everyone else's food?  Let me know and I'll email them.

I'm sorry you're having problems again, but I don't wanna see you on here again until you email me and tell me you called Dr. C.

'Nuff said.

I know Nicole was not happy with her dinner and my "slider" cheeseburger was terrible
Only ate one of them  - As far as the Dr-  put in a call for an appointment-
calling her last month got me absolutly no where so I'm hoping if she sees
I'm serious enough to make an appointment to talk to her it may do some good.

Frankly I feel like going back to my former Dr and telling her set up the Hystos -
I am in so much pain that I am going home to bed -

Well, you BOTH should have spoken up - nicely, but spoken up!!

Sorry you're going through this with the doc - I NEVER had a problem with her predecessor.  Tell her if she's not willing to help you, you'll find someone who WILL!!!!

Tylenol, heating pad and Cuddles!!!!!

Hey Dianne!!!

Jury selection started on Tuesday.  OMG!!!  I had to be there at 8:30, they called numbers 2-275 at around 10, and then pulled us into a courtroom.  The jury for the particular trial I was on wasn't picked until about 2, then opening arguments started at 3.

I don't recall the initial room as being too bad - it was huge and there were lots of people, but I took some books, magazines and some water and I was a happy girl!!  What's that say about my hectic life that I was happy to have jury duty so I could read??? LOL!!!!

Tia, I think I may have seen you, On Wednesday, having lunch at that McGoo's place? Maybe? Was it you? I thought that the person lookied familiar. Maybe not?!
The rrom wasn't terrible, but for a person with ADD to be syuck in a room from 8:30 until 4:05 pm, (which is when they let us go) was terrible. And everyone was eating snacks all day long. Seriously I felt like I was in the Twilight zone. DO do do doooo. LOL!
