DH got me som Luigi's Italian Ice. Box says no sugar added, flavored with Splenda but it has 20g carbs and under that sugars says 1g.  In the ingredients, listed is water, sorbitol, maltodextrin, citric acid, lemon juice concentrate, natural flavors, guar and xanthan gums and sucrlaose.  2 days post op, can I have these as replacement for sugar free popcicle??

Finally home, I will put another post out with my experience soon.  thanks C!

Welcome home! Glad you are feeling up to posting. You should be fine with the s/f itialian ice. The majority of carbs are the sugar alcohol that is in the sorbitol. That is one sugar alcohol that does not bother me. I can't speak for anyone but me, of course. Try a few teaspoons full of one and wait about an hour to make sure it doesn't cause you gastric upset. It is rare to dump on sugar alcohol, but it does give some people diarrhea. If you have tolerated s/f popcicles, you should be ok since most of those have sorbitol as well.
Hugs!

I get lots of gas and bloating from sugar alcohols.  I actually do better with under 10 grams of regular sugar in a serving.  Give it a try but do so when you have time for the possible after effects.
I have a lot of puzzle books in the bathroom

Colleen, I remember buying those too. I don't remember how soon post surgery I had one. My guess is that it should be OK. It is just that everyone seems to be so different. Some folks are highly sensitive and others are not. There is a lot of trial and error until you learn what works best for you. So yes, as long as it seems to fall into the guidelines, it is worth trying.
