i have been missing coffee since i gave it up pre-op a few months ago. i had already decided that i was not going to introduce caffeine back into my diet because i'm happy to be fully decaffeinated now. but i sooooo miss the taste of coffee.
well, i decided i was going to treat myself to just little bit of decaff today and i walked to starbucks with my friend.
i left with a decaffeinated latte made with soy milk, sugar free vanilla extract and a scoop of whey protein!
it was sooooo good!! it was so nice to feel like i had a special treat!!
I escaped!! LOL!!! Nope, not a sequestered jury - thank God!!! Very interesting case, though, it was a murder trial involving the MS-13 gang - big on L.A., then Herndon, VA, now moving into the D.C. suburbs.
The victims, both under 25, were stabbed 150 times and 100 times - the pictures were pretty horrific. The defendant is 24.
I couldn't deliberate since I was an alternate, but the judge's law clerk called me yesterday and let me know that after deliberating for 3 hours, the jury came back with a decision of guilty for both first degree murders.
What a waste!! I'm glad to be done, but it was quite the experience!!!
Hugs,
T

ooo... sugar free gingerbread sounds like the hot diggity!
and tia... yes.. i needed it. 99% of the time, i'm good with the surgery, happy with the results, no buyer's remorse. but once in a while, i just long to feel "normal" again. this really satisfied one of those moments!
