odd wow moment

I had to have my wedding and engagement rings resized.  I always felt I had small hands for a person who was kissing 300 lbs.  I wore a 6 1/2. I just had them sized to a 4 1/2.  Man that seems small.  I had to do it since the rings were falling off.  The woman at the jewelry store said I could have gone to a 4 but since my knuckle would hold the rings on I opted to go with the 4 1/2 to adjust for swelling.

Also, just the oddest feeling when people notice you've lost just a few pounds.  Since I have not been feeling well I am down about 4 lbs more than normal.  Today someone said to me "have you lost more weight?  You just look so thin."  I don't think I look any thinner but I did find that I cannot even wear my size 8 pants to bum around the house in because they fall off and the sixes are loose.  I really do not plan to lose any more weight.  If I can just tone up and stay at this weight I will be happy.

Has anyone ever thought about losing too much weight?

SIGH.......every day of my life, Kim, but I don't think I'll ever lose too much!  LOL!!!

Pre-op, my rings were a size 10 - now I wear a 6, which is incredible to me.  Fortunately, I'm friends with a jeweler in OC, who takes care of these things for me!!  I have so many rings that I couldn't afford to have them all resized without a little help!!  I have long, skinny fingers - trust me, they're the only skinny things on me!!  LOL!!!

I'm happy for your wow moments - take them and run with them honey!!  You've done a great job!  As long as you're healthy, that's the important thing - no matter your weight!

Hugs,

Tia

yep, I had a few of my rings resized from 8 to 5.

It's rare but some post ops do end up losing "too much" weight due to intolerances or bypass/malabsorption issues.  Most though end up eventually gaining back some weight when the intolerances and absorption issues balance out.  I am not sure where I heard it- not sure it was factual- but I heard on very rare occasions they have to reverse the RNY due to severe malabsorption issues that do not subside.

Awesome Wow!  I too have to resize my wedding rings and some othere rings I have. I have waited so I only resize once. I look at my hands now and say wow what a difference from before. I wore a size 10 & 10 1/2 before. I have to check what I am now. I have ring guards on my wedding rings and now the ring guards are not good enough so it is time to resize.

I am also being told by some people that I am too skinny and I need to gain some weight.  Yeah right I haven't heard that in ages and I am not planning to gain. lol
My daughter told me I need some meat on my bones. lol

I hope to maintain also but my surgeon told me that since I am nursing I can still lose more weight and I need to increase my caloric intake. It is kind of hard when you can't fit more.  But I try and it seems like if I am eating all day.  I hope when I do finish nursing I don't continue to eat all day like I do now.

talk to your doctor about losing too much weight and see what he suggest. then pass on the info ok?

Hope you are feeling better today from the stone.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Hi - glad you're doing so well, it's been a long time since I talked to you!  I'm not trying to lose any more weight either.  I'm in size 4/6 and  I don't think I look very healthy.  I've tried eating a little more than usual, but I still don't gain.  I just wish I could tone up my muscles.  On a happier note, I'm having a face, neck and upper and lower eye plastic surgery next Monday at St Agnes.
