OT ~ Do you keep in Touch
(edited for typos)
Lisa,
Most of my friends are people I grew up with, and we all went to elem, jr high, & high school together. I still keep frequent contact with 2 close girlfriends, and with 3 girlfriends I keep yearly contact. I also have 3 close college friends I stay in touch with. I lost track of everyone else.
But the thing about these friends is that we mostly just talk by phone or email, with the rare occasional get together. We are all too busy. It's unecessary to feel guilt about having made a life for ourselves. That's what we all do! There is just less time to stay in touch. But we do with the most special friends.
My High School developed it's own alumni website about 10 years ago and it is all inclusive. Anything I want to know, I can check and see what someone posted about themselves. It almost makes reunions uneccessary, but they still get planned. Usually there is a happy hour the night before, an evening event the following night, and then a family style picnic, children and multiclass siblings included, that Sunday. Between those three events there is a chance everyone that wants to participate can do it. I have never gone but maybe I will go to my 25th in 2 years.
Lisa, I think it does not matter whether you kept in touch or not....if you go to the reunion you will pick up right where you left off, and you will probably be surprised at who you enjoy seeing who were not among your friends back then. So much has changed since then for everyone. I bet it will feel great to attend the reunion as a no longer obese person! You and your husband will have a great time. You and your cuteness will light up any room! Can you tell, I think you are adorable! Enjoy!
