Melissa:
I only have one true friend, Darlene.  I have known her for about 20 years.  We have been through everything.  I just went to visit her last weekend and we call each other every couple of weeks.  I wouldn't let anything get in the way of our friendship.  Thanks for sharing.

I have kept in touch with 2-3 people I went to school with.  My goal in school was to get out.  My 25 reunion is in 2 years and I am kind of looking forward to it.  I am thinner now than I was back then and I think I look pretty good for 40.

My husband was VERY popular during high school (class president, soccer team, basketball team, and then some, a general over achiever) and keeps in touch with a number of his classmates.  We had a great time at his reunion.  Did I post pictures??

Funny thing is I figure my husband would have never dated me in high school.  I am so glad that he grew up not to be a shallow man.  He married me obese and I gained 60 lbs after we married.  He forked over the money for me to have surgery.  We will be married for 3 years this November and he adores me for the person I am/have been.  He always says "I loved you when you were heavy, I love you thin.  You are perfect for me."  Boy do I love him.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww our husbands sound SO MUCH ALIKE!!! I love when my husband tells me that too. I ask him if he would still love me as much as he does if I lose 100 pounds and he said "Yes Jill and I would love you as much if you gained 100 pounds too because your my everything"!! I LOVE IT! We are blessed. ;o) And my hubby was a jock too. Football star! LOL ~Jilly~

That's so wonderful about your husband.  Yes, even though I am 230 lbs, my husband has never seen me at this weight.  I don't think it really matters to him, but he is happy that my diabetes is gone.  I'm hoping to have a good time at my 25th.  I am looking forward to it.

Hey!! First of all it is so fun that you get to plan the reunion. That is EXCITING! Second we all get busy with life so dont let that get you down. They had not made contact with you either right? For some it just takes a while.
My 15 year reunion was this summer and I MISSED IT because my 7 year old was in the hospital with a horrid kidney infection!!!! I really wanted to see everyone however I keep up with MOST of them on my MYSPACE. My husband does that too. Its easier to keep up with your friends and know whats going on with them if you have them on your myspace page. You get to know when someone is Expecting a baby, or lost a loved one, or is getting married/remarried etc. A neighbor graduated in 1975 and has her classmates on her myspace. We laugh about that because I was born in 1975. (hehehe)  Do you have a myspace page? You can browse the High School you attended and even the years you attended or the year you graduated and see who is on there that you may know. (((((((Hugs))))))))))
Have a blast with the planning honey. ~Jilly~

I'm really not planning ~ I'm co-planning ~ if I was planning it would all be done by now.  I'm a planner.  But I'm helping out where I hope I can without stepping on anyone's toes.  I am looking forward to the reunion, but I will still have those insecurities that I had in high school.

Lisa,

I am still good friends with my BF from 11th grade along with her three sisters.  We've always been like family.  We don't see one another as much as we'd like, but we do.  In fact, I see the middle sister more than the BF! lol  It's amazing how people change as we grow up and grow older.  The BF in school is still someone I care about, but other than memories and some common likes, we are completely different people now.  There are a lot of things about her that I don't agree with (just moral issues on my part having to do with things like drugs and multiple abortions as two examples), but I still love her regardless.  I DO keep in touch with a good number of people from school though.  I've found them through MySpace and a fellow HS graduate got the Howard High group on "ning.com" and I've found many others I used to talk to.  Check out my page at: http://hhslions.ning.com/profile/HeatherStrineModispaw and surf the site.  Maybe there is a site like this for your school where you can catch up with people you know too!

As for yourself, do NOT feel guilty about living your life.  It's what happens, you make new friends, others fall to the side, but not forgotten.  There is always time to look people up!  HUGS to you girlie!!!  This is my 20 year reunion and I'm STILL waiting to hear when we are having something! lol

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...
