I'm seeking wls and I have priority partners for insurance.  Does anyone know what they require for approval?   Please Help

honey you have to call the number on the card and ask them first get the code from the doctor of what the surgery is your going for then call them and ask them if your covered they will help you

Sorry I have never heard of them. I do agree with the above post. You need to call your ins comp or go on the website and they can tell you what they require. Most ins companies vary greatly on what is required for approval. Some require 3, 6 or 12 month supervised diets and some require none at all. I have united healthcare and all that was required from my bariatric surgeon was a letter of medical necessity and a five year weight history (not documented just I had to tell them) I had an easy approval within 6 days, but for some it is very hard. Your best bet would be to call the number on the card and see what they require.

I have called my insurance company and they do cover it, but when I asked them what their requirements for approval were they told me they would only talk to my primary care.  It's just frustrating because I want to get all the requirments out of the way.  This insurance mess is driving me  nuts.

Check the website if you can.  You have to register your account if you're not already and you can look up anything by the surgery code and it explains it in full detail.  It usually will open up a large file in Adobe Acrobat or somehting like that.
