Posting on the Maryland Board

Hey everybody!!!

I've gotten some pm's and emails expressing some concern over "why" the Maryland Board has been dead as of late.

For my part, in addition to some other, unimportant bs, my Dad has been really sick, and was transferred from a local hospital to Union Memorial's heart center.  The bottom line is that he was in kidney/heart failure, and we knew that if they couldn't get his renal stents open, it was going to put more pressure on his heart and force him into kidney dialysis.  Fortunately, through the hands of gifted people at Union Memorial, they were able to open one kidney stent, which has greatly improved his condition.  He's been home for just about a week now and had a scan done this a.m. to determine the condition of things.  We don't have the results yet, but the doctors are optimistic.

Although I have friends who are like family here on this board, I know you all understand when I say that my family is my #1 priority.  I returned to an office where I am the only administrative person, to find my desk, chair and floor piled HIGH with papers, files, subpoenas, and have been trying to wade through it.

The energy of the board tends to wane in the busy summer months, and now, with school having started again, a lot of people are involved in after school activities.  TRUST me, even though I'm a "faux" Mom, I know all too well what it's like to pick two different children up from two different schools, make dinner, check homework and throw a load of laundry in before running out the door to either run errands or go to an activity.

What I'm trying to say is, if you think the board seems dead or "unbusy," please jump on here and post something!!!  Even if you just respond to someone else to say congrats or offer an ear, I guarantee you it means more than you know.  Although I feel like I have a proprietary interest in this board, it IS truly a board for ALL of us - pre, post and non-ops alike!!!

Hugs,

Tia

Hi Tia (((Hugs)))) It sure has been hectic with the kids heading back to school. I know I Have had less time to pop on here but I do check all my PMS and get back to them daily. I want to be as supportive as I can to everyone. It does get hard to keep up on though, I will agree with you. But the ladies that do the daily post with songs, debates, thought of the day etc keep it going and its always wonderful to see those. Now if we can get the lurkers to come out of the shell and post we would be good to go. haha
I went out to eat with Mikey over the weekend and a couple close to us was talking to two females about this MD OH board. They were saying they dont post anything they just read because the "Public" can get on here and read any of the stuff and that is invasion of privacy etc etc. So some people are still iffy about posting. I myself dont have anything to hide and I am in no way ashamed of my decision to have RNY surgery. What other people think about me doesnt weigh on my mind. hahaha!
I will do my part to participate more on the board.
Have a great night ~Jilly~

Hi Tia,
This board is for everyone, and I know we all do the best we can to keep posting here, you included.  You have to follow your priorities, we all do.  Hugs to you and your Dad.

Hey Tia:
Not gone, but have been extremely busy.  I think it's the same with everyone.  I usually have a couple of times a day that I can check and see what's going on.  I try to respond when I can, but don't always have time.  I am still out here supportive to everyone and will try to do my part to become more active again!

Lisa!!  I have missed you.  I know what you mean, I have no time to get on here except nights and weekends myself.  Today I have the morning off so I came on here.  I'm heading out now so I just wanted to say it's good to "see" you.

I too have been going through a very busy time. Work has been quite stressful lately and it has been difficult for me to post as much as I have at times. I still care very much about this board and the people on it and will try to keep in touch as much as I can.

I think everyone said has said it all.  I don't have much time to post I cannot really post at work and can only really get on in the evening and weekends except for Friday. I do check my PM's on a regular back. Tia, I hope and pray your father will get better.   I do care about everyone on this board and am here if anyone needs me.  Have a great day!

Lots of well wishes headed your way Tia for you, your Dad and everyone here.  I appreciate all the friendships I have made since joining the Maryland Board and it is wonderful to have this extended family to lean on when you are unsure about something.  I know that I can count on all my friends here to have a answer to a question because someone else has gone through it and can lend their experience. So I say that we give ourselves kudos for the great bunch that we are!
