Just a quickie update from my surgery last Tuesday 8/26

I came home that evening but haven't been able to get online much. Pain wise this surgery has been much harder on me than my RNY or gallbladder/ gtube surgery. My surgeon told my DH and my mom that it would hurt though because she had a lot of adhesions to clean up as well as sectioning off the afferent limb. I still have to wear my binder or I can't hardly move without pain. My belly button incision area is the worst pain wise and I have a huge hematoma covering the whole bottom part of my tummy. I'm super swollen too (think 20 months pregnant yup). I'm still needing the pain medication regularly and worry bcause I have no more refills left and don't see my surgeon for 4 more days. I've tried advancing to mushy foods but my tummy isn't having it and to be honest I"m sick of liquids but oh well. I've had a few bouts of vomiting and heaving and lets just say that is NOT what I want to be doing now so I'll stick to liquids.

Anyways I figured I'd update my Maryland family too.. I'm still living just not online much because it hurts to sit up in the chair for long periods.

Misty,
Catch me up.  What surgery did you just have?  Was it for a hernia, revision,  or plastics?

I hope you feel better real soon!

I'm not really sure if it would classify as a revision but kinda it was. Basically my food was emptying from my pouch to my afferent limb instead of the intestine, so it was kind of causing an obtruction. While in there my surgeon did exploratory surgery as well and found a lot of adhesions... Soo she had to fix them as well.
