here's the information on them.....
they are Spring Valley natural Calcium Chews

0 Fat
4 Carbs
0 sugars
2g sugar Alcohols
vitamin D 400 IU
vitamin K 40 mcg

My only beef with it is that it's calcium carbonate and not calcium citrate. I have looked EVERYWHERE for calcium citrate in a chewable but I can't get them anywhere around here. they only come in pills.

Aaron,
Calcium citrate is the one WLS postops are supposed to take because it's the one we absorb. Calcium carbonate is not well absorbed. Are you sure you need to use chewables being 4 mos out? Many people take pill form after a short time with the chewables. Bariatric advantage sells lozenges that are Cal citrate if you aren't ready for pills. http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog?cat=Calcium%20Citr ate&so=

Aaron Honey....
Those calcium suppliments are very good. I had been using the Viactiv chews but they have sugar in them. Not much but taking three a day was adding up. I saw those sf ones and bought one bag... I controlled myself LOL!!!! They are good.... gives me my chocolate fix and calcium!
Enjoy them!
Big bear hug to you.....
Deb
I've been told that the Calcium Carbonate is nearly pointless in a WLS patient, so I personally wouldn't take them or waste my money and precious pouch space on them.
I have heard lots of good things about UpCal-D. I bought mine from Colonial Medical, but have yet to try it. It is a powder that you can mix into anything and it is not supposed to have much of a taste.
IMO, the BA chewables are NASTY.

The BA chewable powdery tablets are not very tasty...the cinnamon was too hot for me and upset my stomach. I have been taking a calcium citrate capsule from www.vitalady.com for a few years now. Its a gelatin capsule filled with powder so no hard tablet to to crush or pass thru you whole and not be absorbed.

Good morning Aaron,
My surgeon told me that I should never take any calcium carbonate because our bodies will not be absorbing that type of calcium. Since youstill can not take pills being that you are early out. You can buy Tropical Oasis Calcium citrate liquid also recommended by my Surgeon & Nut. Once I was almost 4 months post op I bought the Citracal and took those with no problem.
The ones I buy now is at Sams club they are equal to the citracal and you get the double amount for the same price.
As far as the Bariatric Advantage ones well in my opinion they are just plain
lol

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

i was also chastized at my one month appointment for taking carbonate and not citrate. i now take the BA chewable, chocoloate-flavorited citrate. they aren't delicious, but they don't bother me either.
