Yuck Yuck and Yuck

I ordered all my meds the other day from Bariatric Advantage so I'd have everything before surgery.  Along with them I thought I'd try and sample some of the meal replacements, got a sample box and was excited when I opened it this morning, seeing a coffee one and thinking aww cool I'll try it make it into a smootie thinking it would be like drinking a frap.....NOT!!!!
OH MY GOD HOW NASTY!!!  Tastes like like liquid cardboard and has NO flavor.  You mean to tell me I'm going to have partially live on these things for a while???  No wonder I'm gonna loose weight because I'm not going to want to drink them.

Any suggestions and has anybody else had the same experience with the Bariatric Advantage meal replacements?  Please tell me the other brands taste better.

Hey!  We are having surgery the same day.  I am also planning to get all my vitamins from bariatric advantage next week.  No, I would not eat their meal replacements.  there are a ton of other ones out there such as champion whey protein stack banana scream and chocolate, or Unjury.  Also you can buy body fortress vanilla for cheap at target and I like the flavor.  It's all depending upon your preference.  The smell is what bugs me so it helps to drink them in a covered cup.

I was going to use Sweitzer the first time I looked into this several years ago, and then when I returned to the issue to forefront I new someone who used Averbach and was so pleased plus I hated that drive through the tunnel to get to Sweitzer.

Well I sure ain't buying that one again, I'm heading out to Walmart tonight and have to see what other kind of stuff to buy, because that was just nasty!!! 

Thanks for the idea to use a covered cup that might help, I'll have to try that.

Try the reciepe i told you about for making the coffee drink.  Get the DaVinci flavored syrup from walmart, the sf coffee mate (vanilla caramel or what ever flavor you like), coffee you make yourself, vanilla protein powder (body fortress from walmart)...blend that then add ice...  making it yourself and adding things to your taste is much better.  actually going out now to walmart to get the things i need to make mine...Don't know if you have tried the EAS advantage drinks either that are at walmart.  They come in a 4 pk. and are already made.  Its not going to be easy to find what you will like, believe me.  Something will finally be right for you to tolerate them. Took me about 3-4 months to really find what I like.

Oh I'm definately trying the receipe you gave me.  I was just trying the BA stuff since I was already ordering from them.  I'm headed to Walmart tonight to check out all the stuff they have there.  Hopefully I'll like those better.

I wouldn't spend too much time, or money trying out different meal replacements now.  You will find that your tastes change DRAMATICALLY after surgery, and what tastes good now will taste horrible later, and vice versa.

Hi, I've AWOL for a few days.  I saw Margaret Furtado the nutritionist at JH, she was wonderful, but she gave me a BA sample and I thought it was nasty.  I have purchased two Unjury brands, chocolate and chicken soup and preop they are both good with no after taste.  I understand it may be different post op.  But for now I like them both.
