TUESDAY EXERCISE

It's 3:40 in the morning and I can't sleep.  I've had a stiff neck for a few days now and it got pretty bad overnight.  I woke up for my traditional middle-of-the-night bathroom run and was in pretty bad pain, so I just stayed up.

Anyhow, since I was going to stay awake, I figured I'd get a head start on my run for the day.  Today, it's a new 7 1/2 mile course I mapped out last night as I inch closer to the 13.1 miles I need to be able to finish by my October 11th half-marathon in Baltimore.

Not expecting anyone to be awake at this time, none the less exercising.  When you get around to it, however, what do you have planned for today?

Physical Therapy and going to see if I can talk the doctor into letting me walk just a little on the treadmill.  This not being able to workout is KILLING me!

Hi Andy,

I am sorry you couldn't sleep and the stiff neck is something you need to get checked if it doesn't get better quickly. I hope you get to feeling better today.
Wishing you all the best with preparing yourself for this marathon.

My husband could not sleep with an attack of the allergies so he is now sleeping on the couch.

I am going to walk on the treadmill for an hour and then I am going to do some toning exercises that  have began doing 3 times a week.

Have a great day!

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Good morning Andy :)  Lately I've been having issues with my knee that got the shots.  It seems like it's back to it's old routine of grinding and popping painfully.  Soon though I'll have a workout partner visiting for a week or so which will be a nice change.  Unfortunately I'm already developing the "batwings" so I'm doing some light lifting to get that under control.  I'm really looking forward to my 3 month follow up with my surgeon so he can tell me why the hell I'm so tired all the time.

Aaron,

Sorry you are so tired.  When is your 3 month follow-up?

Hope the knee starts to feel better.  Just as a side note, my husband and I were in Sam's club and there was a sign that said "For every 1 lb lost, 4 lbs of pressure is taken off your knees"  AMAZING!!  We should all feel loads better.

Feel better!!
Kim

My 3 month follow up is on September 3rd (yeah it's almost near my 4 month mark LOL).  Most definitely!  I was putting 1 full ton of pressure on my knees (500 pounds x 4)......it's a wonder I can still walk LOL  But it is really painful.  I thought the pain would go away with what I've lost so far but it seems to be getting worse, not better.  Of course I'm using it more which is probably why.  I know the shots take some time to do their magic but man.....I really thought there would be some relief by now witht he shots combined with what I've lost so far.

Done my exercise for the day - 55 minutes on the elliptical holding (intermittently) 4 lb weights in each hand.
Bought a small 4 lb. weight ball - will do some sit-ups tonight.
