Mental Side of Eating?

it was great seeing you last night.  remember, you can only "fail" at RNY mentally in the beginning.  the surgery is designed to ensure you succeed for at least 18 months.  so, just use that time to adopt the new life style you need.  i'm hoping that by refraining now and getting such great results that when the time comes that i may be able to add the "bad" things back into my diet, i'll be so healthy and thin that i will have no desire to add them back in.

You know, I was really lucky with my process.  I had 9 months of mostly liquid diets prior to my surgery so my behavior modification was already in place prior to surgery.  It really helped me out tremendously and I already looked at food differently prior to surgery.  That was the bast thing I ever did and I would totally recommend doing it that way to anyone that is in their 6 month diet requirement.

i commented last night that although i felt lucky to only have to do three months pre-op rather than six months.... i feel that many of the six monthers are much better prepared for their surgeries.
