Support groups in maryland/dc?

Hi,
I am *hoping* to have wls (ds) this october or november. My surgeon is in baltimore, but I live in College Park and was hoping I could find a support group a bit closer to home. I have been looking for a list of groups and cannot find one. Does anyone know of any groups in the DC metro maryland area?

 there are all kinds of support groups start off by asking your doctor most of them have them in the hospitals your going to and your gonna find this group amazing, im going through the hoops myself. good luck

Not to change the subject but saw that Dr. Moen is your doc and you referrenced the DS.  I dont' know if you've already talked to him but I don't think he is very open to doing the DS, especially if your BMI is not that high. I wanted that surgery and he would not do that one for me, indicating that I can get the 100 pounds off just as easily with the RNY. My starting BMI was 43.   Just wanted to give you the heads up. Talk to him, maybe he's changed.  I have to admit, after my 6 months sup diet, I don't think  I need the DS anyway, I will do fine with the RNY.  Hope this helps.

Thanks! He and I have discussed it and he is willing to do it--but we did have to talk about it a lot first! He said that he thought both surgeries could be successful for me--so we chatted and I decided to go with the DS for other reasons.

Do you have a surgery date? What do you think of him?
