Three Things for Monday!

I have not seen the 3 things thread started yet. Obviously Tia and Darla must be otherwise occupied today. Since I feel like a day without the 3 things is like a day without sunshine, I would like to get it started.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Of course it started out great for many of us with Aaron's Bday Ba****hanks to all who were able to attend and for providing all of the photos!

My Three Things:

1 - A much more controlled weekend - For the first weekend in a long time, I feel like I had a much more controlled weekend. I have been struggling for some time with offsetting my good behavior with lapses that seem to sabbotage / offset that good behavior. Now that I have had a good weekend, I feel stronger to face the week ahead.

2 - Good Friends - I met a friend yesterday who I have not seen in over 4 years. She lives in PA and we met at the Lancaster Outlets for lunch and then shopping. it was terrific to catch up. I also appreciate her choice of comments to me about my weight loss. Instead of the usual comments about the change in size, she kept remarking about how happy I looked. That means more to me because my goal all along has been to have a better quality of life. And I am happier now than I was for a long time.

3 - Taking a friend shopping with you -  I know other people have had this experience, I mostly shop by myself. For me it took someone shopping with me to tell me that I was selecting clothes that were too big. When I tried on clothes that were smaller, I was shocked to see that they fit! I just accepted before now that my frame is larger and and I would always need larger sizes than the average woman. It was a revelation to me that I have to push myself more when shopping to try smaller sizes more often!

So, what are you grateful for today?

Thanks For starting this Deb:
I know what you mean about needing someone else to give shopping advice;
The day I went with Toni and Kathy they really helped:  I too seem to try things
on that are too big.

1.  For my friends here on OH :  Had a great time Friday night and  look forward to
more gatherings.

2.  For my coworkers who are holding down the fort so I can take the day off
to take care of some medical issues

3.  For my Family:  Mom and Dad had a good time in OC but I must admit I got a little lonely.

So whats up in your world today Maryland?

I am still pissed that I wasn't able to make it to Aaron's birthday bash.  Why does everybody have to live so far away?  Or, I guess I should ask - Why the hell do I have to live so far away from everybody?  Lol.  Anyway, here are my three:

1.  Camera phones.  Both of my children are on vacation this week.  My son's at the Outer Banks in N.C. and my daughter's a couple hours from him at Myrtle Beach, S.C.  Although I can't be there with them, the ability for them to take pictures and send them to me is the next best thing.

2.  Maryland weather.  I was told before I moved here that the weather down here was different than I was used to.  And it has proved to be so right.  Not too hot, perfect cool nights.  Up in PA, it was very predictable.  Hot, humid days all summer followed by unsleepable nights due to the humidity.

3.  My football team.  Anybody watch the Eagles kick the **** out of New England on Friday night?  I know Tom Brady was hurt, but their offense looked good against New England's first team defense and how about the two rookies returning kicks for touchdowns?  Haven't had that around Philadelphia in a LONG, LONG time.  Can't wait till the season starts for real.  E A G L E S ......... EAGLES!!!!!!!!!

Andy, I am glad you are enjoying the MD weather. However, I have to say this is not typical. Our summers are usually filled with hot humid days especially in August. So enjoy it for now, but don't be disappointed later!

I am grateful for the following:

1.  A husband who loves me in spite of my moods.  Up, down, in between, warts and all he loves me.  At my heaviest, at my thinnest, nothing has changed.

2.  Today was the first day of SCHOOL for the kids!!  Enough said.

3.  Lunesta.  Last night I actually got a full 8hrs of sleep.  What a great sleep and I didn't feel hung over when I awoke.
