I'm in severe pain.
I had the endoscopy yesterday and when I woke up from the anesthesia, I had some neck and jaw pain and a sore throat, which I figured were normal since those were the areas being manipulated.
When I got out of the bed, my hips hurt a little. I figured that when they moved me from the operating table to the gurney, something must have gotten jostled.
Then last night I was at the store and I noticed my arms were hurting a little. But I didn't think too much of it, as it wasn't severe at all.
I woke up in the middle of the night, as I usually do, and I couldn't move. Every single muscle in my body is in severe pain. SEVERE.
I was supposed to go to a housewarming today, but had to send H alone because I can literally barely move. When I finally decided to get out of bed, he had to move my legs for me, which was excruciating. Then pick me up to a sitting position (glad I've lost 132 lbs!). Getting down the stairs was a nightmare.
I don't know what the problem is. Is this a reaction to the anesthesia? Something to do with my surgery? Am I dying? The only thing I did differently yesterday was have 1/2 of one of those IDS New Whey bullets. But if anything, I'd think that would improve my muscles, not hurt them.

Ok, I called Dr. Moein. He said that it is from a antisposmotic (sp?) that they gave me during anesthesia yesterday. He said my potassium is also prob depleted. So he said drink lots of Propel (which I think is gross), do stretching (which I have been because it does help the pain once I get over the initial pain of using the muscle) and take pain meds. So I am glad it is nothing serious. So when my husband gets home I'll send him out for some Propel.

Gosh, Leigh, I am SOOOOO sorry!!! You've sure had a tough time of it. Keep on the doctors, though, particularly if it gets worse (hell, if it gets worse, go to GBMC's ER and MAKE them page Dr. Moen), or you develop any other symptoms.
Please keep us updated and let us know if there's anything we can do!!!
Hugs,
Tia

Thanks, Tia! I am the "problem patient." I actually Googled and found out that it is common to have this reaction after having a breathing tube placed because of the muscle relaxant that they give. It especially affects young female adults. (I'm 29, so I guess that is young). It also said it affected the extremely fit, which is NOT me. I prob never had a reaction before because I never had a breathing tube.
So hopefully it will go away soon. At least I'm stretching out my fingers on the keyboard!
