Last night I took care of a WLS patient who had surgery done about the same time I did.  Anyway, we were speaking of her surgery and how people around her reacted to her surgery and, I told her about mine.  I can't believe I did that because I have not even shared with with people outside of family, close friends and of course you all.

She looked great and we spoke of our experiences.  She was very positive about it all.  But did tell me about her negative experiences with people also.

It sounds like you were in the right place at the right time.  I am sure it was very helpful to her.   It was probably what see needed.

It feels strange to tell people but it feels good too, nto to participate in stigmatizing WLS.  You took care of treating your medical condition, period.  Good for you!

Kim,

You probably helped her in a big way but i think you also helped yourself in "outting" yourself and using that as a tool to help her. Way to go hon! HUGS!!!
