How long...

does the shedding last.  I started around the 4 month mark, and it doesn't show any signs of stopping.  Luckily I had really thich hair to begin with, so it's not very noticeable except in the shower, on my towel, in my brush...basically everything my head touches!  I've upped my protein, hoping it would help, but nope.  And why is it only the hair on the head...life would be so much easier if it got rid of the hair elsewhere!

Sandi,

I'm probably not the best person to be answering this LOL but you know I still have yet to notice my head stubble falling out. hmmmm.......maybe it's something for your doc to answer unless these other lovely ladies have some advice.

They tell me it comes back after the first year. This has been something of a major concern for me, since my hair was quite thin to begin with and it is NOTICEABLE on me. In an effort to help my hair and nails, I have been taking the supplement BIOTIN for the last several months. They say that takes time to work as well. My stylist at my last appointment said she thought it was beginning to work, but I am not so sure. So I am trying to be patient, especially since those who have been post surg longer than me assure me it will return. Sigh!

Hi Sandi,

My hair started falling out about 3 months out and contined for a few months.   The good news is that my hair has come back thicker and healthier than it was pre-op.

Hugs, Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

Hey Sandi!  Mine only lasted about a month or so and started around 4 months, but it all came back.  I hear Biotin helps plus keep up the protein!  Where are you in York?  My parents moved up there in May, they are just off Queen Street.  We're hoping to move up that way in the next year ourselves.

Heather, I'm a couple exits up just off Market Street.  We moved up here 4 years ago, and we love it.

Too funny!  I want to find a big old house on Market Street!  They are gorgeous, kind of like old Catonsville.  Mom loves it too.  She says it is SO quiet that it's scary lol.

When we first moved here, I felt the same way about the quiet...especially after living in Dundalk my whole life!
