Coming Home Clothes

Got a stupid question for all the post ops.  Since I've read that you weigh more after Lap RNY because of all the gas, what kind of clothes did you wear home?? Button-up, stretchy....please tell me.  Just making plans for Sept 17.

I put on my Pj's and killed the bra and did not care, it all worked for me.

I had RNY in February so I wore sweatpants home.  I would make sure anything you wear is big and roomy.  Anything with loose fitting elastic would be fine, it was for me.  I pulled the sweatpants down a little so as to not irritate my incisions.  I wore an oversized t-shirt and an oversized sweatshirt also.  As for shoes, I made sure I wore slip on clogs, I didn't know if I could bend over and tie my shoes after surgery, so I decided to take the safe route and wear my slip ons.  With this weather, flip flops would be great!

Congrats and good luck!

I had RNY, but I bought a pair of sweats that were a little too big for me.  I figured that it would be easier on my incisions and fit my drain and all.

I pretty much wore really big sweats and an oversized shirt.......that seemed to be fine but as soon as i got home, the shirt came off and pulled my sweats down below the bottom incision. it's going to take a while before you can actually have something tighter to wear (I think it took me like two to three weeks).

No stupid questions here!  In fact this is a great question.

I had wore jeans the day I had surgery. I wish I had taken so soft pants or sweat pants because I had to keep my zipper open.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I'm with everyone else.  I wore sweats and an oversize shirt.  Bring a pillow for the ride home.  It's good if you hold the pillow against your tummy when you go over the bumps in the road.

I wore pj bottoms that were already loose, with a 4x t-shirt (I was a 3x at the time). I wasn't uncomfortable. I did wear my bra, but took it off as soon as I got home. That was the only thing that bothered me, because I had one of my small incisions right at my bra line.
Hugs!

i just had my surgery last month and it was hot as hades the day i left the hospital.  i work cotton shorts with a stretchy waist band.  i also bought about three tops at Target that looked a little like maternity tops.  i wore clothes like this for three weeks.  i didn't try to wear jeans until about a week ago... one month post op.
