Kristen,
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Yeah, Dad is a pretty special dude and means so much to me. We'll see what the next nine days of radiation does and if they can get his pain managed so the prayers are a definate good thing.

Heather,
I am sorry your Dad is suffering so much pain and that your boyfriend is not here to help support you through this.  He is doing his duty for our country  and I hope he comes home safely when he is finished.  You have us here and we are listening, so feel free to vent anytime.

Jennifer,
Thank you very much for the thoughts. My dad starts the nine day radiation treatment tomorrow so we'll see what happens with that. BF is a support in mind even when he can't be here physically for me. That is a comfort that helps get me through the days without him here. It is hard but it has also been showing me just how strong I am and know that he's proud of me. :-) I'm looking forward to him coming here as soon as he can...he REALLY needs to meet my dad! :-)

Heather,

My prayers are with you and your family in these trying times.  Your boyfriend is doing an honorable thing for his country. I know it is not easy my son is a former Marine he just got out a little over 2 years ago and my husband  and brother are both Vietnam Vets  so I can relate how hard this is for you but yet how proud you are of him,   Take care of yourself throughout all this and I also know this is easier said than done.   Call me if you need to talk.

Hugs to you,
Terri

Terri,
Thank you so much for the prayers. I am very proud of the BF and what he is doing for our country so these sacrifices are minor in the grand scheme of things. It is hard, which you know but you also know the pride you feel about your son, same as I do for him. My dad has yet to meet him and is very proud of him and has faith in him as well, so it's that much more important he comes back soon to meet him. I say my prayers and so appreciate the ones I get here. My dad starts radiation tomorrow so hopefully that will help and they can get his pain under control. Thank you and I will give you a call soon.

Heather, good thoughts and prayers are coming your way in the hopes that your dad's positive attitude continues to uplift him and keep him in a good place.

Clearly, you adore him.  The pain of watching him deteriorate must be absolutely awful.  Hugs and prayers to you, too.
