My Yogurt changed

This just reminds me I have to always check nutrition labels.
I was buying my usual nutritionist-recommended Dannon Light and Fit sugar free fat free yogurt this week, when I noticed the cup changed from purple to white, and had "Great new Taste" wtritten on the lid.  I checked the nutrition label, and there has been a change, alright....there are more sugar grams and more carbs now, and 20 more calories.

It went from 7g sugar/11g carbs overall to 11g sugar/6g carbs over all!!

So I called the number to customer service to complain that this yogurt was something I eat regularly and it was recommended to all of GBMCs WLS pts at nutrition class.  It has been really the only yogurt besides plain and greek that are low sugar.

She informed me that they decided to go with a new sweetener blend.  If you ask me it's way too sweet now.  I liked the other one.  The good news she gave me is that Dannon has another product called
Dannon Light Carb & Sugar Control that comes in little 4oz 6-packs and is still low in sugar. It comes in strawberry, blueberry, peach, vanilla, and raspberry.  So from now on I will be trying to find this.

Thanks for the heads up!

Usually when it tastes better it has more sugars!  Just like the protein bars when they taste so yummy you want to eat more it has a lot of sugar!  lol

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Thanks for the info Jennifer
I have been eating that for a good while but I have not hit the market yet this weekend.  I think I better go back to the greek yogurt.

yeah nothing but greek yogurt for me too. it's still yogurt but I have control over what sweetener and flavorings I put in it. it's a little more expensive but I get the big tubs and eat on that (I cleaned the super walmart out of their greek yogurt LOL)

Aaron I am learning to put fruit in mine and it is not so bad, but the protein is a added bonus that other yogurts don't have. There is way more protein.
Goodmorning sunshine!

Hi There Aaron,

Yes, I think you took it all before I got to try it!  I keep meaning to try it.  I'll let you know when I do, and I love the kashi cereal so I may be a total copy-cat at breakfast time! It is such a protein dense breakfast.

i have always loved yogurt, but haven't been able to eat it since surgery.  just makes my stomach feel pukey.... almost like a mini-dump.

I just couldn't believe they changed it. The Dannon light-n-fit was the yogurt recommended when I had surgery 2 yrs ago, well sure enough my favorite cherry vanilla has more sugar like you said. Good thing I found the weight control oatmeal I like esp with a few blueberries in it. Thanks for the heads up.

Yup, they completely ruined it.
They also ruined the name, because that's the only yogurt with that "light" taste; however, thhey made the taste thicker and nasty...

1000% agree!
