Hi Melissa,  Dr. Steele is my surgeon too.   When did you receive your date?  I was told they were going to try and schedule me for the middle of September on the same day as another they have scheduled,  I wonder if that is you???

Hi and thanks very very much!  That means a lot to me!  I'm still working with the JH staff to get all my testing scheduled but they still want to try and schedule me for surgery.  So we'll see what happens.    It sure is nice to come here and see other people with the same doctor and hospital. I just wish there were more LB'ers here.  That's what caught my attention when Melissa said she was scheduled for LB.

Yes I dont know much about LB but the weight struggles are the same when it comes down to it. I had my RNY at Johns Hopkins Bayview with Dr Magnuson. Althought the surgery staff was great the nurses (I should say the night nurses) werent so much. My nurses assistant was the best and she was on staff everynight I was there and really took care of me.

Hi there! Congrats on your upcoming surgery!!!  I'm one of the bandsters and I'm almost 2 years out.  I met with Melissa today and her surgery date is on 9/16.  She contacted me to get the inside scoop on the band and to get some insight.  Feel free to PM me with any questions you have.  Bayview was exception for my band surgery.

HI!  Yes, we liked Dr. Steele and she seems to want to do a complete assistance through the journey, not just get you through the surgery.  It will be truly amazing if they schedule me with you on the same day.  Some how I don't think that will happen but you never know.  When Lillian told me she wanted to schedule me mid September I about fell out of my chair. 

Melissa, did you have to have any special testing.  Because of my age I have to have a colonoscopy and endoscoopy.  Wondering if you had any of the same doctors.  Did you see Margaret Furtado?  Anyway, I'm kind of full of questions aren't I?

I did have special testing, but nothing out of the ordinary. I guess that means its not special. Ha!

I had sleep study, psych eval, 12 week cognitive group therapy (that wasn't mandatory), nutrition appointment with Margaret, and the usual lab work. I'm 31 and pretty healthy.... or so the labwork says.

Well let me know your surgery date. Bayview has Bariatric suites. I'm definitely hoping to get one of those. They are private rooms!

OH wow, didn't know that.  So you're planning to stay over night?  I was sure hoping to go home that day.
