Well I'm past my 3 month mark and I have an issue.

I think I dumped last night on a protein bar. The first time I dumped ever. I didn't have much of a sweet tooth when I was pre-op and it's completely gone now that I'm post-op. What I wanna know is there anything out there that is high in protein that isn't sweet?????

I'm really tired of the protein shakes and protein bars and splenda and all tht stuff. I actually went and poured salt into my hand and ate it at lunch today. I stop by the reception desk just so I can have some peanuts because they are salty. Not all of us have huge sweet teeth so why have a diet largely that is sweet?

i wish i had an aswer for you.  i complained to my NUT yesterday about the puddings and stuff.  just seems like wasted calories.  i'm glad i can start adding in some fresh (cooked) veggies and some fruit now.  i just hope the fruit agrees with me.

Yikes! Im sorry that happened to you honey.
As fas as eating a hand full of salt...YIKES! You better be careful with that. I dont do well with salt and I havent even had surgery yet. I blow up like a blow fish with salt.
LOL
I will let you know if I find any info on snacks w/o the sugar. You are so LUCKY that you dont have a sweet tooth. Last night I had one SO BAD and ended up with ban cream pudding. BAD JILLY!!! LOL I needed to put myself on time out!

I am with you.  I get tired of sweets (even though I do have a sweet tooth).  I like a mixture of salty and sweet.  I was eating TJ's soy crisps, but I found other brands, too.  Safeway has their own brand, and Genisoy has them (saw them at Walmart and Vitamin Shoppe).

Also, I found at BariatricEating.com a bunch of "chipy" type snacks that are high in protein.  Here's the direct link http://www.bariatriceating.com/lowcarbfoods.html.  I tried some of the Kay's but wasn't really fond of them.

Basically, I was eating a lof of cheeses and nuts.  Bean and bacon soup by Campbell's.  Unfortunately not as much protein as shakes/bars.

Aaron -

I don't know if you're familiar with them, but try refried beans, they're REALLY high in protein and any canned food is salty!!!

Um......................I'm only into hetero spankings!!!  LOL!!!

Seriously, you're so picky, you may not like my ideas:

Mix a can of black beans with a jar of salsa, top Triscuits with cheese and salsa/beans and microwave or broil

Saute Morningstar Farms fajita strips, add a can of diced tomatoes/chilies and a can of black beans and some parm cheese - you could top with plain yogurt as sour cream

Savory ricotta - Season a tub of ricotta with Italian spices and garlic salt, add parm cheese and mix.  Top with tomatoes or spaghetti sauce and shredded cheese and microwave.

Canned chicken - mix with mayo, salsa and shredded cheese - eat on Triscuits

I'll think of some more, just bear with me!!!

ROFLMAOTIPIMP!!!!!!! oh I have some stories to tell you!!!!!

black beans...check......salsa.....check......cheese....is this fat free shredded or can I go part skim? my choices are a bit limited as I don't have access to the same stuff y'all do in the big city.

Ricotta.....now this sounds yummy......is it fat free or part skim and with the spaghetti sauce, is it surgar free (if I can actually get it that way?)

The canned chicken sounds like chicken salad to me

You're right I am a picky guy....usually I'm ok with having the same meal over and over and over again. it doesn't bother me because I don't really care about FLAVOR per se, I just need savory....no matter what it is unless it's seafood or most vegetables

You can do whatever cheese you like, because you're not using that much.  But that's just my opinion.

Same thing with the sauces.  You can find nsa sauce, but maybe not out in the sticks.

You give me a list of what you're missing and I'll pick it up for you and deliver it on November 15!!  There's every conceivable kind of store around here, with the exception of one stocking available men (gay, straight or otherwise), so we're both screwed on that count!!!  LOL!!!!

Yes, smarta$$, the canned chicken IS chicken salad, but you're ramping it up with the salsa and adding cheese.  Work with me, boy, wouldja??????

I've done some Almonds.  Grilled chicken, turkey. Imitation crab is my new one and for right now, I'm loving it!  I don't like the canned chicken, but there's always re-fried beans (LOL).  I know, you just got rid of all of them.
