Nerve Wracking

I had my pre-op appointment yesterday with my PCP.  My EKG was abnormal so now I have to go to a cardiologist to get clearance for surgery.  Arrrgggg!   He did say that it was nothing serious but knew that if he sent it over as is, they would probably look at it a few days before surgery and want a clearance & then my surgery would be postponed until I got it. So at least I still have time to get it done.  I see the cardiologist on Friday and I told her they needed all my pre-op stuff by the 21st.    Hopefully my chest x-ray comes out ok. I'm going to have that done tonight after work.

Just a minor bump in the road..but still nerve wracking

Tina -

I had the same problem and had to see a cardiologist; everything was cleared for surgery, so hopefully, that'll be the case for you, too!

As you said, a nerve-wracking bump in the road.  Glad the PCP is being proactive and trying to think ahead.  Try to stay positive!!

Crossing my fingers that everything turns out okay!

Hugs,

Tina:

One week prior to surgury my PCP instisted on cardiac clearance :
Not much stress there huh?  Anyway she got me an appointment with a friend
of hers for the next day :  two days later I had a lazy man stress test and
the next day I went back and got the clearance-  I swear I thought my surgury would
have to be postponed:  Look at it this way -  you have almost two weeks -  Everything
will be fine

Just one more hoop to jump through, but that's what separates the winners from the loosers!  You go girl!  I'm sure everything will turn out fine.

Tina, I know it's nerve wracking but better to have it all done and out of the way now so you have smooth sailing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

That sucks but luckily you still have time to line everything up. That way you wont lose your surgery date. That is AWESOME that you got a cardio appt so quick!!! I hope it all works out for ya.
Dr Prince is my PCP in Pasadena and her nurse said I cant even schedule my physical until 2 weeks before surgery. So I guess that is the same for everyone.
